Hundreds of Karen villagers fled in fear of fighting
Thai security check point at Burma border
About five hundred Karen villagers have arrived to Thai border recently to seek shelter amid the tensions between the Karen National Union (KNU) and the Democratic Buddhist Karen Association (DKBA).
DKBA has announced that they would retaliate against the KNU after a number of attacks on their troops for which they said the KNU was responsible.
Villagers fled by whole families to Thai border
The villagers told the BBC that the DKBA is seemingly preparing for a major fighting.
In the mean time, Thailand has tightened security along its border with Burma in Mae Sot and Phopra areas.
Our correspondent Ko Aung Kyaw Oo met with the Karen villagers and reported directly from the border.
