Name: Cyndie MacFadyen on Mar 31, 2008Comments: We do not need to have any more pharmacies in our area. We are already more than adequately serviced by many pharmacologiacal choices. In addition we do not want our unique area of Sacramento to look like the interchangeable malls of the suburbs.Flag

Name: John R Campos on May 23, 2008Comments: If Walgreens wanted to become part of the MidTown community, they should have committed long ago when there was a need for their store. With all the Rite-Aids and Safeway's in the vicinity, there is plenty of coverage by pharmacies in the area.Flag

Name: Kristen Bryan on Jul 11, 2008Comments: Please do not do this...midtown Sacramento is being ruined by all these corporate stores. Those of us that live here enjoy the small, privately owned businesses that have thrived here for years. Nobody wants to see another Walgreens, or Rite Aid, or Longs put in anywhere in the midtown/downtown area. We have enough of that.Flag

Name: Michael Olsen on Jun 14, 2009Comments: Nothing good will come from this project. Another pharmacy is not needed. More traffic will degrade the quality of life, discourage pedestrians and bicycles. A 24x7 box store does not fit with the Alhambra corridor. The existing Rite Aid is already a bad neighbor with constant pan handlers and a perpetual ring of trash around the store. They have not responded to numerous neighbor complaints over the last 2 years. Do we need another store like this Do we need more delivery trucks driving on our residential streets Semi-trailers drive through the surrounding neighborhood on a regular basis headed for SafeWay and Walgreens. Has the City taken responsible action on these issues already Will the city take action if problems develop with yet another box store No on all counts.Flag

Name: Subaru Sumeragi on Nov 30, 2010Comments: As a 12-year Rite Aid employee of another Sacramento area store,I also oppose this attempt out of Deerfield to undermine my company's dominance not only in East Sac(only competitor is CVS on Folsom/51st)but also in Greater Sacramento.Selecting a location cat-corner from the only 24-hour Rite Aid in Northern California is just plain dirty considering that Walgreens already has seven Sac metro locations that are open 24 hours. There are too many Walgreen locations and not enough Rite Aid ones in the metro as it is.Not to mention that there are Walgreens locations under construction on Meadowview as well as in Cameron Park,El Dorado Hills, and Grass Valley...Flag
