Karen Burnat | We DO NOT need another 24 hour pharmacy in our neighborhood. The building of this huge project would change the entire character of our neighborhood. Since we already have over 22 pharmacies in a 2 mile radius, this project is being pushed along because of corporate greed, not for the benefit of the home owners of the Alhambra Corridor. If I need to buy more "low priced" crap, I can walk 100 yards to the 24 hour Rite Aid, or the 24 hour Safeway. I can't possibly imagine that Walgreens will be selling anything different than these other stores.
Joseph Burnat | Walgreen's should not be built in this historic neighborhood!
| 103 | Patrick McGilvray | We do not need a 'turf war' between Rite Aid and Walgreens in our neighborhood. One or the other of them would eventually go out of business and leave a large vacant shell.
I live in the neighborhood and my business is at 1115 Alhambra Blvd. My family has owned a nearby building for over 25 years and we're all vehemently opposed to this terrible plan for Alhambra.
A 'zero setback' store of any sort would be a disaster for Alhambra Blvd. Combining a 'zero setback' building for a store like Walgreens in an area already over-served by pharmacy and shopping stores is a double disaster.
NO TO WALGREENS ON ALHAMBRA!!! |

sharon bellomo | I do not want another pharmacy in my nieghborhood. Enough is enough. There is no need for demolition of existing bldgs for something the area already has an abundance of. This is a planning farse!
Anonymous | No more pharmacies please. There is one on almost every corner.

Laura Winningham | We already have a 24hr Rite Aid and Safeway in our neighborhood. This attracts unwanted activity at all hours of the night when we are trying to sleep. We do not need this Walgreens!
Marletta Harmon |
Josh Varner | Please, please, for the love of God, how many of these things do we need in Midtown? Use some commmon sense for once!

Scott Miller | How does this serve Sacramento? There is a Rite Aid practically across the street as well as a Safeway. These giant chain pharmacy-meets-mini-mart stores are starting to define downtown Sacramento!

ani chopourian | I am against the construction of another store as proposed as there are stores similar with pharmacies very close by. Lets keep Sacramento intact and not destroy the architectural integrity of the city also.
Mary Burnat | Remember the Alhambra Theater! Do not let big business destroy more of this lovely neighborhood. Neighborhoods are about families, small businesses, and establishments that will improve the quality of life for it's residents. Another 24 hour establishment will only create more opportunities for vagrants.
Christine Farren | I have lived in East Sac for the last 15 years and know that we do not need another huge Walgreens at that location/ There are already enough Rite Aids, Walgreens, and other commercial pharmacies in the area (let alone the more independent Knott's on J and 49th). Please do not allow this to happen!
allyson Fief | we don't need ANOTHER massive drug store in the neighborhood!!
Ceri Dierst-Davies |
Glenn Miller |
Alec Roberts-Knutila | A Walgreen's on Alhambra is a ridiculous proposition. I encourage people to sign this petition.

Leroy Jacobs | DOWN WITH WALGREENS!! I SUPPORT YOU 100%!!
Michael Curry |
Ann & Jim Tracy | East Sacramento does not need yet another boxy, ugly pharmacy. We have enough.

| 135 | Elisabeth Bowles | City Officials,
Don't you have any power over these corporations? The pharmacy onslaught would be laughable if it weren't such a blight on our beautiful old neighborhood. Enough is enough. Represent us or move to the suburbs where your mentality will be appreciated. |

Frances Lincoln | I have been going to the Mayflower restaurant for over 20 years with my family. It has now become a traditional lunch spot for us and it would be a shame to see it moved.
matthew nurge |
Tess Bradley |
April Genung | A Walgreens in this space would be ridiculous and unnecessary! Please wait for a proposal that will help the neighborhood and be aesthetically pleasing!

Anonymous | My entire family loves the mayflowere resturant and don't want it torn down to build another store when there is already a Rite Aid across the street.
Cyndie MacFadyen | We do not need to have any more pharmacies in our area. We are already more than adequately serviced by many pharmacologiacal choices. In addition we do not want our unique area of Sacramento to look like the interchangeable malls of the suburbs.
Anonymous | I do not wish to share my email address but support the petition and live within the corridor
Candy Holland | how many drug stores does one neighborhood need? a pedestrian friendly mised retail restaurant would better suit the neighborhood.
Michael Welch | No more destruction of local resources to line the pockets of the stockholders and executives of big-box corporations!
Kristen Bryan | Please do not do this...midtown Sacramento is being ruined by all these corporate stores. Those of us that live here enjoy the small, privately owned businesses that have thrived here for years. Nobody wants to see another Walgreens, or Rite Aid, or Longs put in anywhere in the midtown/downtown area. We have enough of that.
Michael Olsen | Nothing good will come from this project. Another pharmacy is not needed. More traffic will degrade the quality of life, discourage pedestrians and bicycles. A 24x7 box store does not fit with the Alhambra corridor. The existing Rite Aid is already a bad neighbor with constant pan handlers and a perpetual ring of trash around the store. They have not responded to numerous neighbor complaints over the last 2 years. Do we need another store like this? Do we need more delivery trucks driving on our residential streets? Semi-trailers drive through the surrounding neighborhood on a regular basis headed for SafeWay and Walgreens. Has the City taken responsible action on these issues already? Will the city take action if problems develop with yet another box store? No on all counts.
