Name: Karen Burnat on Mar 1, 2008Comments: We DO NOT need another 24 hour pharmacy in our neighborhood. The building of this huge project would change the entire character of our neighborhood. Since we already have over 22 pharmacies in a 2 mile radius, this project is being pushed along because of corporate greed, not for the benefit of the home owners of the Alhambra Corridor. If I need to buy more "low priced" crap, I can walk 100 yards to the 24 hour Rite Aid, or the 24 hour Safeway. I can't possibly imagine that Walgreens will be selling anything different than these other stores.Flag

Name: Patrick McGilvray on Mar 1, 2008Comments: We do not need a 'turf war' between Rite Aid and Walgreens in our neighborhood. One or the other of them would eventually go out of business and leave a large vacant shell. I live in the neighborhood and my business is at 1115 Alhambra Blvd. My family has owned a nearby building for over 25 years and we're all vehemently opposed to this terrible plan for Alhambra. A 'zero setback' store of any sort would be a disaster for Alhambra Blvd. Combining a 'zero setback' building for a store like Walgreens in an area already over-served by pharmacy and shopping stores is a double disaster. NO TO WALGREENS ON ALHAMBRA!!!Flag

Name: Kara-Lisa Mitchell on Mar 3, 2008Comments: We have enough big buisness. As a small buisness owner, I agree that we need a buisness in that location that can carry on the spirit of a family owned buisness that enhances our community. We have such a need for a more tastefully thought out design. I think we have enough locations from which we can buy Cover Girl make -up and have our pictures developed. Let's add some spice to a place where the salsa used to flow freely!Flag

Name: Brian Mulholland on Mar 5, 2008Comments: we have local pharmacists in the neighborhood and we hate to lose that relationship. there is no way the locals can compete with walgreens. let the box stores set up shop in the suburbs, but keep the integrity in east sac. that's why we live here.Flag
