First they came for the Jews, then they came for the blacks, then they came for the Christians. When they came for me there was no one left to stand up for my rights
Private business owners should have the right to make decisions about legal activities happening in their business.
Haven't the smoking ban people ever heard of exhaust fans? It would make more sense to insist that air be moved out of the building, especially since most places already have some system if they serve food. Just enhance it.

In the name of property rights this law must not be enacted. I am a non smoker.

Free Enterprise, Free Choice and Signs IS a wonderful invention. It stands for the American Way. Now paid off politicians are selling out the basics of the country and our right to think for ourselves for their own bank accounts. It's amazing how big pharma thru their big buck foundation can run this country. This needs to be investigated! http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/conghearing/index.html

I WAS a member of the Democratic Party, joined the Libertarians. Let's work together to target the liberal fascists who push these bans and get them out of office.
Keep your laws off my body!
Trying to quit, but don't expect everyone to do what I do. I go to the bar, have a drink, be social and SMOKE. If I quit, and go to the bar, I would not expect everyone else to quit!!!
Surely the stress of our modern work environment causes many more health issues than the easily avoided potential problems introduced by second hand smoke. The effects on children because of the need for at least two incomes per family is much more detrimental

A recent report from the Cigar Association of America estimates that handmade cigar imports for the year 2007 reached 335.0 million which makes it the second highest on record. The all time record reached in 1997 of 417.8 million represented the peak of the Cigar Boom and the 1998 totals which marked the end of the boom saw a slight decline to 334.6 million. Industry executives thought it would be many years before those numbers were even approached but these impressive figures for 2007 cap the fourth consecutive year imports reached over 300 million, an event that has only happened twice before. Of course premium handmade cigars are only a portion of the cigar trade that also includes machine-made and little cigars. Put all the figures together and the total number of cigars imported through October of 2007 was 1.015 billion cigars. That’s a lot of cigars and a stunning 23.3 percent ahead of the comparable figures for 2006. So exactly what do those numbers mean? SMOKING BANS DO NOT WORK! The numbers don't lie that even when faced with higher prices and tougher restrictions we are still enjoying handmade cigars at almost record numbers

Did Orwel get it right, but miss the date by 30 years? Rather than 1984, is it perhaps 2014? At the rate we've been loosing our individual rights, it wouldn't be a surprise. Most people are becoming sheep. They want to be told what they can and cannot do in all aspects of their lives. They're giving up freedom for security and control. Our founding fathers would not have stood for this level of control by our Government! Where and when will it end!

If Wisconsin makes the same mistake as states such as Illinois and N.Y. by passing the non smoking ban sb150 it would be a grave error. It should be noted that Ill. and New York aready regret passing the ban and are in the preliminary stages of reversing the n/s ban in many situations, mainly in Chicago and N.Y. City. (Search the net if you don't believe me, under "Smoking Permits.") How many more civil rights will we loose in the land of the free???? Smoking is not illegal yet! Soon we will be fined for not being the perfect wieght v.s. our hieght and bone structure, don't laugh, some southern states are already looking into this. Where will this Country be 25 years from now?? What are our boys fighting for in Irac? I thought it was called FREEDOM!!! Mike (Former Mayor and Judicuary Chairman)
I am getting very tired of big brother telling me how and what to do. Soon it will be like the return of Hitler and the SS. The sick minded bleeding hearts should live their own lives and BUTT out of ours. Then of course like always this is about money and corruption.
Lets refocus and get rid of Scott Walker !
Vote No to Scott Walker

Im currently stationed in Hawaii, but im still concerned about the freedom of the business owners back home. We are already seeing benefits from Minnesota and Illinois ban. Why hurt our businesses further.
No to the Nanny State

I would like to see a SMOKE FREE WISCONSIN and a breathe either state to go against smokers whom are allowed in restruants.
Jim Doyle is the epitome of a fascist. I never voted for the man and never would. Yet he made my life a little harder by upping the cost of my cigarettes by nearly two dollars over the last couple of years. Very recently with the giant dollar bump in the tax. And now this sadistic control freak is trying to steal not only our right to smoke in public places but he's trying to take away the rights of business owners to have a say in allowing smoking in their own establishments. Do Jim Doyle or any of the fascist legislators own these buildings that will be forced to ban smoking if they pass their law? I'm finding it very hard to refer to my home as the Land of the free with a straight face these days.

Would anyone like to know what the smoking ban is REALLY ABOUT? E-mail me at: gninni2012ad@yahoo.com, and ask me to send you the documents: "WHAT'S IT REALLY ABOUT?, and I'll e-mail them to you; I'll give you a hint: Hillary Clinton, obesity ban in mississippi, the brainwashing of U.S. Navy officers, and the initiation of the U.S. into the New World Order, Big Brother & Big Sister, and 21st Century slavery; that should be enough to whet your ouji-aou(Japenese for mental taste buds).
They are doing the same thing in New Mexico. We must get our rights back!
