Name: Pamela Carter on Sep 7, 2003State: GACountry: USComments: Marietta is a historical city, filled with character, beauty and nostalgia. My great great grandparents chose to settle here and thus it became our family's home. My Grandfather, the late Charles B. Nelson,Founder of the Marietta Electric Company, was at one time a very active Marietta Business man; My Great Grandfather worked for the Brumby Chair Company and was highly respected, Men like these helped to establish Marietta. Our heritage needs to be preserved, our history protected. We should not have to face the devastation of Urban movement- We do not want our land disrupted. Kennesaw Mountain is filled with history~it should never be encroached upon by roads and traffic. People living in Powder Springs, Paulding/Dallas; Hiram and surrounding areas have chosen to live out side the City limits while working inside Atlanta. They moved here for the "Country" feel and the pleasant rolling green grass and trees- Now they want a highway to tye them to the City-to help make up for time in traffic..tuff! If you can't take the traffic MOVE! But don't expect the citizens of this area who love this beautiful anitbellum area to accept your pressure for an easier drive. Leave earlier, take 92 to 75- switch jobs; get an apartment in town..but leave our Historical Area alone! The citizens of Marietta, who have grown up here and stayed DO NOT WANT YOUR ROAD!!!! STOP THE INSANITY!!!! NO ROAD!!! NO ROAD!!! Bill Dunaway is a disgrace to our town, As the Mayor of Marietta he should be steadfast against this type of Urban movement...He at one time was a well respected businessman..with this move should it pass he will have the pleasure of being the least respected man in Marietta~ needless to say he'll never have to worry about being Marietta Citizen of the Year~ We can start a new category~ Marietta Jerk of the Century! He'll be a dead ringer for 1st place!! This is not a solution- this will cause a revolution-NO ROAD NOT NOW! NOT LATER! NOT EVER!Flag

Name: Mark McNabb on Sep 8, 2003State: GACountry: USComments: Marietta is a city of people, good people. This proposal would not only destroy up to 56 significant Marietta homes, it would deprive us of 56 Marietta families. They are our friends and our neighbors, and we do not wish to see them disenfranchised. I grew up in Smyrna and I have seen a city destroyed. I do not wish to see this repeated in Marietta. I am adamently against the destruction of Whitlock Heights.Flag
