Name: Brian Nugent on Aug 25, 2007Comments: As Trustee in the Village of Sloatsburg, I oppose any additional flights over Rockland County. Further, I opposed any additional flights over the Torne Valley, Harriman State Park. The FAA admits that it did not consider the imminent increase in Stewart Airport Traffic that will result from the Port Authority takeover of Stewart. The FAA preferred alternative is ill-conceived and failed to give adequate notice to those who will be affected by it.Flag

Name: Pierre Skol on Aug 25, 2007Comments: Dear Mr. St. Lawrence, Regarding your letter of August 2007 re the proposal by the FAA to send 200 to 600 flights over Rockland, I, and ALL of my neighbors in the Squires Gate section of Suffern, are vehemently opposed to this plan. Please advise who else we need to contact besides yourself, and your good office, to express our opposition to this. Also, in your letter, you stated, "local officials suggested that the FAA re-evaluate sending flights over Chestnut Ridge, Orangetown, and the village of Montebello, - and instead send them over Western Ramapo (Suffern, Hillburn, and Sloatsburg)." Please advise the names of these "local officials" who believe their area of Rockland is entitled to special treatment at the expense of the villages of Western Ramapo. What the FAA is proposing is bad enough without having "fellow Rocklanders" sell out to protect their part of the county. The proposal by the FAA must be fought by your office so no low altitude flights are over Rockland. Please advise who else we need to contact. Thank you for your attention.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Aug 25, 2007Comments: Environmentally 600 planes over Rockland will completely destroy whatever little clean air we have. The studies that were performed by the FAA are 15 years lagging and do not represent what would transpire today since the area has become populated.Flag
