Name: Parthasarathy Kalalesrinivasaranga on Apr 30, 2009Comments: unionization of IT staff was overdue. While you may opt to stay independent, seek political support of parties which are friends of working class. They can insulate workers from the wrath of the employer and still compel the employer to negotiate. I offer my solidarity.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Apr 30, 2009Comments: Yes. It is inhuman to lay off the IT professionals, a majority of them youths by giving pink slips. It is also disheartening that these IT and ITES firms are exploiting the situation termed recession to lay-off and minimsie their staff strength and extract maximum work at less pay. As a democracy and committed to social justice, the nation as a whole should stand up and fight for the IT and ITES employees who also should reciprocate their commitment to society. Ilangovan. Name: Anonymous on May 1, 2009Comments: Dear Sir / Madam, First of all let me say this is really great organisation. We should now make new acheivements and save our family (IT & ITES employees). 1. Create a organisation which should be business competative to those who did layoffs. 2. Create pension fund / provident fund organisation which gives employment opportunites to our group and make it semi-government. 3. Look into other provisions which are used in other unions in india. 4. Start new schools and industries (agro based) which are required for all even if it is employerFlag

Name: Anonymous on May 1, 2009Comments: I am the only earning member of the family and know nothing other than working for my company for the livelihood . With absolutely no other source of income if being laid off from the job and living in a rented house , I will be choosing to end the life rather than being pushed to bitter poverty . There are thousands of families similar to mine in the middle class society. Being engineer and a skilled professional for the company we have earned huge profits to the company. The fruits of our efforts cannot be made zero in just one PINK SLIP.Flag

Name: Anonymous on May 1, 2009Comments: Lay of should be done only when there is no option available. Other cost cutting measures and salary cuts are ok but not blind layoff. Performance is very important but it should not be used to as an excuse to fire resources. Also hiring freshers is ok but senior resources should not be replaced with freshers.Flag

These companies are further aided by the fact that they have been given self assessed HR status by the government . i hereby urge the govt. to take that away from them and make sure that they follow strict HR policies and do not screw the system left and right.Flag

It is a pity that none of the Leaders promised to retain private jobs during their election campaign. Thousands of families have been ruined due to the Pink Slips shown by Corporate. We must remain united in this effort to stop the Pink Slips. regards Wilson NadarFlag

Name: Arun Upadhyay on May 3, 2009Comments: Companies are firing employees and recession is just an excuse. They just want to cut costs, make an employee do double the work of his/her capacity. Most of the IT/BPO/ITES companies are getting understaffed due to this practice and ultimately leads to breakdown of the employee at personal level. This is not humanitarian at all.Flag
