Name: Anonymous on Dec 31, 2012Comments: Please do not allow our administration to take away the basic constitutional rights granted by Ged to protect ourselves through ownership of firearms that are already controlled by laws. I agree that crazed murderers will always find a means of perpetrating their crimes. Law-abiding Americans should not be punished, controlled, investigated, and otherwise restricted because of mental aberrations found in our society. There are many avenues to find a way to limit the types of crimes as has recently occurred nationally. It is a multifacted problem and not to be blamed on the millions of law-abiding citizens who treasure the right to own firearms Thank you. Meredeth EzzardFlag

Name: Joshua on Dec 31, 2012Comments: This law will only punish law abiding citizens and not stop any crime because the criminals and crazies will always find a way to commit these awful acts no matter what laws are in place to try and stop them. Instead of putting more pointless laws in place how about the government start enforcing the other 20,000 laws pertaining to guns.Flag

Name: Frederick P. Hepding III on Jan 1, 2013Comments: What part of Shall not be infringed do you not all understand? Especially since there are over 2.5 million private gun defenses per year. When taking that into consideration as to the number that die from actually being murdered instead of being shot in defense by citizens or by the police both in defense and aggression, you can only conclude that guns are a very important safety measure for a lot of people. Given that there are over 100 million admitted legal gun owners in this country, it stands to reason that the modern gun owner is more responsible than ever when it comes to the use of arms. We Should not be punished collectively for the horrors committed by such an extremely limited few leaving those of use that are responsible with these gun more at risk to be perpetrated successfully against.Flag

Name: John Glickman on Jan 1, 2013Comments: Drunks using cars kill hundreds of times more Americans than guns. Why not ban cars? Sounds like a silly argument until you consider that mentally ill people kill with guns. Removing the guns won't solve mental illness, just as removing cars won't solve alcoholism. Armed citizens keep America strong. As soon as we lose the 2nd Amendment, we become subjects rather than citizens. In every society where guns were banned, violent crime increased.Flag

Name: CMD on Jan 2, 2013Comments: Diane Feinstein's AWB and its hundreds of banned guns/accessories is the most egregious form of dictatorial abuse of power I have ever seen in my 57 years as an American. We have thousands of gun laws on the books already, that are not enforced at all. Disarming American citizens, especially those unfortunate enough to be robbed, raped, murdered, car-jacked, or home-invaded by multiple criminals, with no means to protect their loved ones, and property effectively, is absolute insanity. I have never seen such a tyrannical piece of legislation proposed, and I have seen a preliminary list of "banned" items. This legislation is a total outrage to law-abiding citizens of this country, and attempts to banish our 2nd amendment of the U.S. constitution. We live in an era of criminally insane madmen, and only criminally insane madmen will own all the banned items on Feinstein's list, if allowed to become law.Flag
