Comments: The issue is qualified teachers and the time to teach the course. The proposed Science Building, visited by the students 4 times a year does not address the issue and is a complete waste of taxpayer money. Within the district there resides retired people who can bring their science and math backgrounds to the school if asked. As far as timing, maybe the school day should be extended or re-prioritize the courses.

Comments: I am strongly opposed to construction of the Global Center for Science and Technology. Sending 2nd to 8th graders and their teachers 4 times a year for a few hours is not going to improve the quality of students in the physical sciences. In this current uncertain economy this is not the time to even think of spending more than $24 million on a questionable project.

Comments: We do not need or want a fancy expensive science palace when our kids are already so behind the rest of the civilized world in basic science skills which require no more than pencil, paper & a teacher!

Comments: First, FBISD doesn't need a Global Center... all of this money spent on things such as this just takes away from what students need, and that is to SIT and LEARN. All of the "field trips" and extra stuff just distracts them from learning. Stop the SPENDING. START Teaching Stujdents!

Comments: No to this monstrosity. It is not needed and it is not cost effective. A fraction of the costs of this project could be funneled to the individual schools to enhance their hands on science studies. This is obviously a money maker for some investors and a money loser for the taxpayers in FB.
