STOP THE FARM PURCHASE

The petition

TO THE PAGE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS [BOS] & THE PAGE COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY [EDA]:

WE, THE UNDERSIGNED CITIZENS OF PAGE COUNTY, VIRGINIA, DO HEREBY PETITION THE BOS AND THE EDA TO STOP ANY FURTHER ACTION TO PURCHASE THE REBECCA GRAVES HUDSON FARM. IN VIEW OF THE FOLLOWING: (1)THE PURCHASE PRICE IS INCOMPREHENSIBLY HIGHER THAN THE FARM'S TRUE MARKET VALUE ESPECIALLY IN CONSIDERATION OF THE NATION'S PRESENT ECONOMIC CHAOS; (2) THE PROBABILITY OF THIS FARM PURCHASE AND DEVELOPMENT INCREASING THE LIKELIHOOD OF ANY BUSINESS ENTITY, ACCEPTABLE TO THE PEOPLE, ACTUALLY LOCATING IN THE COUNTY IS VERY LOW AND (3) THE COUNTY'S PRIMARY MORAL AND FINANCIAL FOCUS SHOULD BE STEWARDSHIP OF TAXPAYER FUNDS - WE OPPOSE THIS FARM PURCHASE AND ASK THE BOS AND THE EDA TO IMMEDIATELY STOP ANY FURTHER EFFORTS TO CONTINUE WITH SAID PURCHASE (INCLUDING REFINANCING WITH THE USDA): RESPECTFULLY SUBMITTED:
