Name: Abdon Canales Del Solar on Apr 26, 2003State:Country: PEComments: Your excellency: I am writing in deep distress and indignation for the confirmation of death penalty of Amina Lawal's appeal. I expected, and everybody too, that the lady Amina Lawal was going to be discharged as it corresponds to a civilized country according to the demonstrations of rectification that Nigeria has been giving. Authorities' duties in all countries are to assure physical, phsychological welfare, and the life of all its citizens. In my country and in many other countries, there are charity programs that give lodging, food, and teach activities (pastry, crafts, etc.) so that economically poor pregnant women can make a living, and also they give medical assistance to the mentioned women, specially single pregnant women. This sentence, to be stoned to death, is horrifyingly cruel and belongs only to the most savage and despicable ancient cultures, how has Nigeria accepted to apply such extremely atrocious and unjust Sharia law The reason for which the lady Amina Lawal has been sentenced isn't any crime at all, as she has not done any harm of any nature neither murdered anybody, but on the contrary, had given life to a human being, she would have opted to abort the child, but she decided to give birth to this child in spite that the child's father didn't recognize this child, she had the courage to face alone the child's maintenance, and that has much more merit than married mothers who do count in with the economical help of their husbands to support their children; all the contrary to being sentenced, this lady Amina Lawal should be praised for giving life to a child and managing to support economically that child without the help of a partner, even in cases of crime, murder, harm, etc. that sentence, to be stoned to death, is be very unjust, cruel, inhuman, and violates the most elemental human rights. Also a death sentence as in the U.S.A. a lethal injection, is cruel and inhuman and I oppose to death penalty in all cases. I STRONGLY DEMAND to correct this extremely unjust and atrocious sentence and IMMEDIATELY DISCHARGE THE LADY AMINA LAWAL, as it is your duty as a Minister of Justice and government representative of a nation that tries to develop and improve in all ways. Nigeria can still correct its image as the just and civilized nation that its government aims to reflect. In the assurance that you will use your wisdom of government to discharge the lady Amina Lawal and abolish this so unjust and cruel Sharia Law that also amputates and flogs persons and violates elemental human rights, I remain of you. Sincerely, Colonel of the Peruvian Army AbdFlag

This is a sexist law against woman. Adultry is a crime that our father in heaven holds us responsible for when we die.Flag
