| 201 | Dianne Connelly | This is a disgraceful decision and has not been thought out in any way. The better way to save money would be to STOP BUILDING THE TRAMS which will be of no use to about 80% of Edinburgh citizens. |

| 207 | Susan Gould | I am particularly concerned about the plans to close the Nursery schools and in many cases direct the children to nursery classes in primary schools. I have had experience of this in another authority. With the best will in the world the school management team cannot give the same attention to the needs of the nursery sector that a dedicated nursery team can. |

| 211 | Tom Hayes | Closing public schools and nurseries is not an option when looking to cut back on council spending for many, many reasons. |

| 214 | Jan Dobie | The most important point about these proposals, is the the original report is full of flaws and inconsistencies. My daughters school is targeted, but I'm trying to put emotion aside and look at the practicalities . We need to go back to the drawing board , with full consultations before any proposals are put forward. Do the council not realise that we are actually quite intelligent people, who will not be walked over? |
| 215 | scott keiller | de ja vue. thatcherism returns to scotland.
areas such as wester hailles needs more support not less. i am sicked to the core by this callous and vendictive act, attacking scots whose only crime is living in poverty. |

| 217 | Anonymous | An ill-thought out move that'll hurt those areas that are already amongst the most deprived in Edinburgh. |
| 218 | Bill Scott | Penny-wise, pound foolish. These schools are valuable community resources. |

| 221 | nasreen akhtar | please do not close the schools these are such good vuildings and history of edinburgh |
| 222 | Val Muirhead | My son is a special needs pupil at Abbeyhill. I cannot praise the school staff (ALL the staff) highly enough for their sensitive and individualised approach towards his integration into mainstream education. To move him could be emotionally and educationally catastrophic. |

| 235 | colin dowden | In this day and age it is of no surprise that the council are trying to do this by the back door and not consulting the tax payers who pay to keep these facilities open. |

| 237 | Anonymous | Who in there right mind voted for S.N.P. Scotland cannot go it alone , we will always need to be a part of G.B. by going it alone we are going back in time instead of forwards, be proud to be Scottish, that should be suffice. |

| 241 | Anonymous | I think that the closure of the Wester Hailes Education Centre and the proposed merger of Forester High and St. Augustines is poorly thought out and shows no research has been done within the communities which will be affected. All three of these schools have been rivals for many years, in some instances leading to violent confrontations. The finishing times had to be reassesed and then changed to prevent such behavior occuring at the end of the school day this I think emphasises the degree of trouble involved. |
| 242 | kenny cairns | what a shambles. the worlds 4th largest economy, a 20 year boom, and you are closing schools and hospitals! what are you gonna do come the slump?
public amenities should be defended at all costs! nationalise the banks, b.p., and recover what is rightfully the workers! |
