| 116 | Chris Melvin | I'm from Forrester High School, and i'm currently in 5th year - my last year of school next year will apparently take place at Wester Hailes.
Okay, so, the 1st-4th years there will be moving to my school (which is already cramped enough as it is, in my opinion) and the 5th and 6th years from my school will move to theirs.
If the school up there is so bad, why are we getting moved there?
Furthermore, and this may sound a little selfish, but by 6th year i would have been at my school 5 years; obviously i want to spend my final year at the same school, particularly since it's getting demolished the summer i leave.
(It seems kind of fitting that it gets smashed up when i leave - it means i definietly am not going back. Ever. =D)
I just...do not like this idea.
But what's one person's opinion?
Oh yeah, hence the petition.

| 121 | Natasha Shotton | This is a disgraceful move from our new government - they should be ashamed. |
| 122 | sharon rafferty | its the children who are having to leave schools they love and teachers they trust i feel for .have the council even given them a thought |

| 129 | Councillor Maureen Child | These proposals are not thought through at all and - if they are allowed to go forward - they are bound to damage our most vulnerable children, families and communities. I am totally opposed. |

| 131 | Donna Close | Not only haven't they considered social issues, they haven't taken into account new houses being built in the area. 500 within the next few years here. No school for those kids then as Ratho would be in excess having taken the kids from Hillwood Primary - earmarked for closure. |

| 136 | Nick Harper | If education is cut back, then the nation becomes impoverished in every way |
| 137 | Mr R.J. Abbot | |
| 138 | LINDA WILSON | Councillors should be backing the people who put them in. Not backing the cuts. Schools and Nurserys and Meeting places for local kids and parents. If these cuts happen it will destroy these communities. Larger classes are not the answer as this can prevent children that need that little bit extra from getting that support and education that they need. |
| 139 | KIRSTY WILSON | It should'nt matter what size school classes are as each child has there own differnt needs and unique style. If you make bigger classes then the childrens needs are not being met to the standard that they should be. Keep classes small and children will benifit from the education that teachers provide and this will also help children learn more and grow more and not feel intimidated or feel left out. Smaller classes help children interact better with each other and to get on with other children better. |

| 144 | caroline watt | the council can not really be thinking about this Is it a joke .Take the school and club out of RATHO STATION and there is nothing,We allready have
no post office,no doctors there will be no Ratho station if they do this no familys will want to stay here
This will put people out of jobs(teachers, bus drivers, dinner ladys and more)
It will over populate the schools that they have to go to.What about the kids allready at the schools do you think the are going to like there schools doubling in size ? less time with teachers there is alot of kids that need extra help there not going to get it.
SNP did not mention this when we were all voting for them!
And how are parents going to get the children miles to this school. Are the council going to pay for transport? |
