karen mackie | I am fighting to save drummond c h school and we as parents will not rest until this decision is reversed.
Sean Humphreys |
Doug Stanhope | the SNP should be embarrassed by this - they should leave the coalition with the LibDems immediately
Malcolm Chisholm |
Naomi Salisbury | Closing down good local schools and community centres hits at the heart of communities who have worked so hard for them.
Kenryck Lloyd-Jones | As until recently, a long time resident of edinburgh - I'm apalled at the shabby way in which the current ruling coalition is pushing ahead with cuts without full and extensive negotiation with parents about the future for education in edinburgh
Andrew Dickson | This proposal is an absolute disgrace. As a child I attended Abbeyhill Primary which is on the closure list. It is an excellent community school. What do these incompetent idiots think they are playing at.
Andrew Burns |
| 61 | Nahid Aslam | Drummond is a good school. It should not be closed down.
Also the other schools should remain functioning too! |
Mohammed Aslam |
Jamila Aslam |
Tom Brechney | This is irresponsible and needs further consultation before ANY decision is taken.
Ros Marshall | I am particularly interested in nursery education, but am against to all the cuts. I can't understand how cuts within the early years sector can be linked to a national policy of improving nursery education.
Rebecca Lassen |
Alan Taylor |
Jamie Taylor |
Judy Rogers | Please stop and think again. Our youngsters are the future and their well being and education should be above price. A number of the schools and centres are the centre of those communities, we shoul/could be encouraging further use Not closure. In these days of mixed race, religion, backgrounds etc surely it is time to think again.

sharon thomson | Save Westfield Court Nursery, Centre of Excellence and strong communitiy attachment. Our kids thrive at this nursery it's an absolute wonderul place to be and one of the councils biggest successes for decades - why close the door on success??? Celebrate it's achievements
Michelle Smythe |
Steven Jack |
Jane Watson | These school closures are not in the best interests of children or parents nor are they for educational reasons. This abandons the concept of early intervention and reducing full time nursery places will put many vulnerable children at risk.
| 80 | Anonymous | Our local school is OK under these plans, but I still support this petition.. unlike the Liberal/SNP councilors, I care about the future of our city!
The nursery school proposals are particularly mad, when parents in the city have to use private suppliers because the council nurseries can't give us the places we need... even before they cut places. |
| 81 | Iain McKendrick | Our local school is OK under these plans, but I still support this petition.. unlike the Liberal/SNP councilors, I care about the future of our city!

Christine Richard | We need to invest in the future of children - not disrupt their school lives. Community centres generally give help and support to the more vulnerable people in communities - these proposals are particularly heartless.

Lynne Wells |
Rebecca Innes | I feel that the loss of these schools will be a huge loss to there local communities and a huge loss to Edinburgh as a whole and would therefore be a mistake.
Mary McDougall |
Prof Jo Clifford | This is a destructive and ill thought move, that will cause great damage to children's education and to local communities throughout Edinburgh
Peter Sharma | clearly not thought through and shows the ineptitude and lack of public awareness by the Lib Dem /SNP administration running this city
Val Boorman |
Vikki Spence | My elder daughter has just started school at a primary not listed for closure, but which will be expected to more than double its roll to take the children from the neighbouring school which is closing. I applied out of catchment for this school because of its high staff-pupil ratio. That will be lost if it changes to full class sizes, and the level of individual teaching currently enjoyed by pupils in the majority of schools in Edinburgh will end.

Emma Liddle |
Mark Lazarowicz MP | These cuts and closures are neither justified or necessary. I urge the Council to think again. If you're running a campaign against these cuts and closures in the Edinburgh North & Leith constituency where I am the MP, send me details of your local campaign to: lazarowiczm@parliament.uk
