Comments: Crofting and owning a croft is already bound in an excessive level of paperwork and legislative cost which makes this at best an expensive hobby, but certainly not an economically viable business and does not need any more cost being imposed by the Scottish Government. Do I hear Estate Agents rubbing their hands as more crofters find themselves having to sell crofts or house sites to meet the increasing costs associated with crofting?

Comments: Even the politicians who are leading this campaign must acknowledge this is not just political dogma, it is largely civil service speak foisted on Ministers with a weak grasp of the issue. The Edinburgh based "Job creation" team responsible for this, as for so many other oppressive and stifling measures, has no understanding of the crofting situation, and more worryingly has no concern. Their primary concern is to preserve and reinforce their own role at the expense of crofters in this case, but any one in the general tax bearing community at a push. Out with them.

Comments: if we are trying to encourage crofters and the production of local food this is not the way to do it! I thought that the Crofters Commission in Inverness already had a register of crofts?
