First off, have any of you ever seen a sci-fi movie How about a horror movie These are the kind of things that their songs are based off of. That is pretty much it. No Satanic influences in sight, unless Satan was in a 50's science fiction movie battling robots and zombies. Secondly, I would much rather kids listen to something like this which is HARMLESS fun rather than the trash that MTV and similar media outlets market towards kids that objectify women and truly glorify violence. I myself am a fan of theirs, I have been to their shows...It's nothing more then an amazing Rock concert/Halloween dance. Their lyrics are FICTIONAL...their antics on stage are an act...it's all part of putting on a great performance (which they do). A word of advice from a "troubled teen"...just stop wasting your time, this band is harmless and have some faith and trust in your children, they wont go out and massacre the neighborhood after listening to Schoolyard Heroes. Your kids aren't stupid, I say this from experience...I've listened to bands such as Cannibal Corpse (whose lyrics are much more violent and vulgar) since the age of 12 (Now I am 18) and I have yet to dismember anyone. Honestly, if anyone was to act on those kinds of song lyrics (which, by the way, are not even bad at all; its called horror rock) it would be your kids. And do you know why It is because you shield them from the most meaningless things in the world to the point of where you WILL drive them insane. I have an example for you. In America, the drinking age is 21, which is fine. But, children are told all their life that alcohol is absolutely horrible for you and if you ever catch them drinking, it will be the worst thing ever to happen to you. Funny, in Europe, the drinking age is between 16 and 18. YET, the drunk driving accident rates in America are incredibly high, whilst in Europe they are almost non-existent. You should be educating your children about world issues like the Genocide in Darfur (Darfur is in Sudan, which is in Africa--which is a continent, not a country), or other human atrocities.
