Name: M E Uffen on Aug 24, 2006Comments: Puppy farming is wrong and should not be supported, condoned, or publisized in any way, shape, or form. Breeding should be done only by professionals who understand the breed and are breeding for the betterment of the breed. Puppy farmers do not care for their animals, indeed many do not see the outside world, they never feel the grass and their human contact is limited. The bitches are bred at every season which is harmful and does not make for healthy pups. Puppy farmers should be outlawed!Flag

Name: John Suffill on Aug 24, 2006Comments: Puppy farms are cruel and should be put out of business as soon as possible. The bitches are bred from each season of their lives until they are no longer viable, when they are simply dumped onto the RSPCA or Rescue Centres. The pups themselves often show signs of genetic disorders (hip dysplasia & etc), which ensures that the new owners face vast vet-bills for the remainder of that dog's (crippled) life. The sooner places like this are put out of business, the better it will be for all breeds. I cannot understand why you persist in allowing adverts for puppy farms in your paper, knowing the harm they are doing to the various breeds, the bitches in their care, and their pups. Please stop any more advertising of this farm, all they are interested in is money, not the welfare of their (so-called) pets or their pups.Flag

You have obviously not seen the conditions that these dogs are kept in, nor the fact they do not receive any vetinary treatment should they fall ill.Flag

Name: Linda Brasier on Aug 26, 2006Comments: I am a Chief Rescue Officer of Samoyeds and I deal with a lot of Dogs that have been bred on Puppy Farms. These Dogs are bred for money and not for the good of the breed. Kept in appalling conditions, bred from season after season and people like me have to pick up the pieces. It is time that our Government did something to stop this disgraceful use of our beloved animals. If everyone saw how these poor dogs are kept then maybe someone would do something positve.Flag

Name: Mrs Elaine Capell on Aug 29, 2006Comments: It is widely known (having been covered extensively in the media) that establishments known as 'Puppy Farms' are geared towards profit and not the welfare of the animals at stud or indeed the puppies produced. Puppies (and indeed pedigree kittens, produced under similar conditions) are often born with a variety of serious health problems. These conditions vary from digestive disorders through to actual deformaties which do not manifest until the puppy starts to grow and mature. Very few of these animals have a valid hip score. Most never see a vet until after they're sold... Visit an animal rescue that takes in the poor, worn-out (often rediculously young) animals surrendered for rehoming after spending their lives producing litter after litter. Bitches who's bodies are so blown and bloated they'll never recover. Often suffering horrible infections brought about by neglect. Dogs who's hips have been damaged by constantly being at stud - no life of fun for them! These animals are rarely housetrained, have never been petted or shown simple affection, groomed or even taken for walks on a lead. Sadly, many more don't get handed over. For those animals a far worse fate awaits. They are dumped. There are many accounts of animals being thrown from moving cars! Others are taken out to the countryside and abandoned to their fate - to be hit by a car or to die a long, lingering death of hunger and exposure. It is my opinion that those who encourage or promote such activities either actively or by default (such as by accepting and placing advertisments for such establishments) are as guilty of profitting from the suffering of animals as those actually conducting the so-called business in the first place. I would respectfully ask that you review your policy on advertising and refuse further listings from all parties involved in this dreadful trade. Mrs E CapellFlag

Name: Pamela Chant on Aug 30, 2006Comments: Puppy farming is a miserable existence for dogs. Bitches are bred to death, every season and from the first - often they are only 6 months old on the first season. When they are no longer useful they are sometimes abandoned - thrown out of cars. They are shut up and never know the love of a human, never taken for walk, never run freely on grass. This practice ought to be outlawed by government inspectors. Never buy a puppy from a puppy farm or dealerFlag

In His wisdom God gave mankind dominion over the other creatures of earth ,but many people WILL someday have to answer for how they have abused His trust, and there will be many of such.Flag
