STOP PROJECT HOME RUN

We, the residents of Harrison respectfully request that the Town- Village Board of Harrison, withdraw their current application to modify the Project Home Run Site along the Beaver Swamp Brook and to reapply to the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation to excavate the excess fill, above and beyond the remediation project and to turn this site into its natural state as a low lying, water retention, wetland nature preserve.

3 years ago Comments: Originally Beaver Swamp Brook comes from Rye originating North above the Osborn Home cemetery. It flowed south through Mamaroneck into an area near the Continental View Condominiums. The water does not flow past Park Avenue and almost comes to a stand still at Bradford Avenue were the County of Westchester decided to create a turtle bog and a bird refuge and sanctuary. So I see this as a County and a State problem as well the Town Harrison because it affects more than one municipality. Now the water is flowing from the North and the South into the retention pond. Which obviously is not large enough.

3 years ago Comments: The second flood event was not as severe as the first, however the basement was flooded and the heat and hot water heater were jepordized again. The whole drainage system needs to be reviewed, the water behind our home flows from Beaver Swamp Brook towards the retention pond. What is wrong with that picture. Regrading Oakland Avenue and the additional storm drains also redistributed the water in a different way. The original flow of Beaver Swamp Brook was from Rye originating North above the Osborn Home. It flowed along the Rye Harrison border through Ryeneck finally through Mamaroneck into an area near the Continental View Condominiums. The water does not flow past Park Avenue and almost comes to a stand still at Bradford Avenue were the County of Westchester decided to create a turtle bog and a bird refuge and sanctuary. So I see this as a County and a State problem as well as because it affects more than one municapilty.
