I am Justin Mahone (Candidate for Member of Youth Parliament), and one of my main issues is stopping bullying for good! As a current victim of bullying, with various people I know have been seriously bullied over the past, I know what it feels like.
Here are some shocking statistics about bullying
() More than 16,000 children are absent from school every day due to bullying
() 10% of Bullied teenagers have attempted to commit suicide
() 46% of children have been bullied sometime in their lives (That's almost half)
() 57 children havecommitted suicidelast year (2013) due to cyberbullying
So, what am I going to do about this awful thing which is happening?
() Setting up campaigns - Making children, bullies, parents and schools more aware of this facts and enforcing them
() Reaching out to schools - I will be looking into going into various schools, and persuading them to change their policies on bullying, so the sanctions and punishment's will be more strict (e.g. Fixed Exclusions, or a 3 strike and your outpunishment)
() Improving Lives- With all of this help, I will be hear to improve children's quality of life, so they can communicate on social media, let children come to school in peace without having to be afraid, and lowering statistics for good.
So, my first target is 1,000 signatures. Make it happen, Make a difference.
