Over fishing is a world wide issue with many countries' population of fish almost gone. Most is due to illegal fisheries. Global production of farmed fish and shellfish has more than doubled in the past 15 years. Many people believe that such growth relieves pressure on ocean fisheries, but the opposite is true.
Habitat destruction, waste disposal, exotic species and pathogen invasions are destroying the world's supply of fish and seafood at an alarming rate.
WE MUST adopt more ecologically sound management practices in wild fishing and farming.
