Name: Richanna Patrick on Jun 17, 2005State: NYCountry: USComments: Tax money should not be used to fund any radio or TV shows, esp. those aimed at adults. Get sponsors or commercials. I'm taxed to death already here in NYS. I resent my money being used without my permission to spread opinions I don't always agree with.Flag

Name: Terry Mingle on Jun 17, 2005State: NYCountry: USComments: Unless you can get the same funding for Michael Savage's show, I think they should have to find their own sponsors. Sorry! To me this seems like another liberal media outlet that is funded by my tax dollars. And I think the media is too liberal to begin with.Flag

Name: Terry Hill on Oct 16, 2006State: TNCountry: USComments: As a concerned taxpayer, I would like to see all funding cut for NPR. They are nothing more than smear agents against everything this country was founded on. If they want to spout their hate speech and left biased views, let them do it without my tax dollars. The money would be better spent for additional channels for AFN for our fighting men and women serving our Nation. RegardsFlag

Name: Susan Wilkinson on Mar 20, 2007State: OHCountry: USComments: i started listening to npr in columbus ohio with an open mind just to see if there was bias...........i also listen to rush limbaugh......other talk shows and various tv news shows including msnbc and fox.........with out a doubt...............npr is the most outrageous biased based radio or tv media outlet.........i was listening the other morning to a caller on npr.............the caller stated that he was tired of the bush bashing on npr...........and other media outlets....i guess because the moderator spoke in a soft tone he would think his answer was intelligent.........it was not............he berated the caller..........he went on to say he(the moderator) refused to listen to limbaugh.........but had listened years ago and thought he was......... in a soft tone and without actually saying the word......a bigot........now that he was "off topic" with the caller....the issue of bush bashing (the callers original statement).........actually ran the course of yet another bush bash by npr........i was so angry on several levels.........obviously the moderator could not respond with examples of how npr is not biased but......only reinforced their bias with his outrageous attempts to discredit what they feel is their biggest threat.........rush limbaugh...........npr is in part funded by my tax dollars.........rush limbaugh is not and if the limbaugh show was funded by tax dollars..........i would not feel that would be correct either.......the bottom line is..........this household is in the top tax brackett.......which means more of my tax dollars go to funding a radio station that on a 24/7 basis.........has the mentality of........bashing our president.........and berating callers that rightfully so ........point out that fact to them....i emailed npr the day i heard this program.........i have heard nothing back........if i donate money to a group and find out it's not what i thought.....i stop the donation........i have no choice here....the money taken to support npr is deducted from our payckeck....by the federal government.......that is why i want to sign this petition.........thank you!!!.......susan wilkinsonFlag

Name: Jack Wagner on Jan 3, 2010State:Country:Comments: Good idea but why stop there? How about people who walk to work, live off the grid and don't use energy made from fossil fuels!? Should their tax money subsidize the oil industry if they don't use their products and services? How about people who don't believe in using pharmaceutical drugs; should they be allowed a tax reimbursement for subsidies to Big Pharma. If you are going to make this a tax issue then cover the spectrum. Plus, who edited the petition intro. They misspelled the word 'their'. Second paragraph, second sentence. Amateurs!Flag

Name: Anonymous on Oct 21, 2010State: New YorkCountry: United StatesComments: NPR gets federal funding by applying for federal grants. One can "stop" funding in this manner. Encourage friends, relatives, and corporations to withhold contributions. NPR has shown true bias and is now bending to the will of a "benefactor" who is now the largest contributor to the organization, and "indicated" to Ellen Wiess's superiors that Juan needed to be dismissed.Flag

Name: William Slack on Oct 21, 2010State: New JerseyCountry: United StatesComments: How can tax dollars still be given to NPR after the fiasco of their firing of Juan Williams? Their bigotry against anything that even leans anywhere near the center much less to the right is undeniably clear. Either replace all the leadership or cut all funding..Flag

Put the money that goes to this useless media back into the robbed social security funds that people have paid into and expect to reap the benefits of when they retire. How dare the government pay our money to these people who in no way represent the view of a majority of people. Boycott npr for the firing of Juan williams and the obstruction of free speech.Flag
