Name: Christal Putkowski on Apr 15, 2005State: NYCountry: USComments: This is a horror. The $48 million dollar they claim we will get in tax revenue is a lie, especially in light of the tax abatement, and even if there was no tax abatement this figure is way too high (all you need is a simple calculator to figure out). The traffic, would not be limited to Sundays only. They have qualifying races during the week and will flow into rush hour. Please stop this insanity.Flag

Name: Richard Marini on Apr 15, 2005State: NYCountry: USComments: If it comes, I go...and so do my taxes. I have friends who live my a nascar track. The traffic jams up for miles. It's bad enough. There is no "light traffic" time on the Island when these races can be held. Nor will it bring anything but low wage jobs to the island. Hot dog vendor is not an economic builder.Flag

Name: James Curcuru on Apr 15, 2005State:Country: USComments: The NASCAR idea is absolutely awful. Our roads are insufficient for our own traffic on average days, there's no way they can handle race days. The track would be an eyesore and I think it would attract a bad element. NASCAR is not popular in New York City, we shouldn't have to suffer for something we don't want. Please don't build it! I support Ferrer's idea of voting on the subject. Staten Islanders needs to have their say.Flag

Although intentions for nascar may be good, the outcome will not beFlag
