Name: Lark McMullin-Ramirez on May 26, 2005State:Country:Comments: We do not need a megaplex 10 screen or parking complex over three stories high. At one time the city ordinance stated no structure over three stories high. I believe that should be kept and NO ONE has the right to go against it.Flag

Name: Michael Schiess on May 26, 2005State: CACountry:Comments: I don't understand why we can't take this a step at a time. Instead of building a multi screen complex and parking garage, how about restoring the Alameda to a 3 screen and see how that works. If a bigger venue is needed, we'll know, but to jump headfirst into an extremely risky venture with taxpayers money and no vote on it is irresponsible at best!Flag

Name: Robert Bietz on May 27, 2005State: CACountry: USComments: I live five blocks from the theater and am an avid moviegoer. I always avoid megaplexes when I go to the theater in favor of smaller theaters like the Orinda, the Oaks or the Piedmont. My family and I would not use a megaplex -- for the type of movies they run as well as for the crowds they attract. We would, however, actively utilize a 3-screen "neighborhood" type theater. We would also miss being able to see Twin Towers beautiful architecture from Park Street (after the parking structure is built). Think, Alameda leaders, Think!!Flag

Name: Diane Voss on May 27, 2005State: CACountry: USComments: Let's not destroy Alameda's small-town appeal. This huge megaplex is not needed or wanted in Alameda. And we surely don;t want to see a 6 level gargae in the downtown area. This will not add to the beauty that is Alameda. This is not what Alameda is all about. We are small-town!Flag

Name: Quezada Araceli on May 27, 2005State: CACountry: USComments: Constructing a megaplex in Alameda might bring in revenue in the shortrun; but in the longrun, you will lose people who love the quiet, small town feel of this pristine town. In the longrun, this will ruin what Alameda is and stands for.Flag
