Name: Amy Wressell on Nov 28, 2007Comments: Targeting an individual with irrational tactics and a total disregard of her rights as a property owner is an inexcusable abuse of power. Something is terribly wrong when non-elected individuals have the power to disregard state agencies and wreak havoc on a tax-paying citizen's life, livelihood and well-being.Flag

I am sure this is just the kind of government our forefathers envisioned: obstructive, selfish, unreasonable and dictatorial!!!! C'MON CITIZENS GET THE BUMS OUT!!!! IT'S YOUR DUTY.....Flag

Name: JoAnn Kennedy on Dec 18, 2007Comments: How about R. Taylor, resident of LMBT, Northampton County who also has been since Ivan 04 trying to restore his family home. FEMA, DCED, and the Riverkeepers also have been to his flooded out home and suggested that he be able to do the necessary repairs. Charlie Dent, and Richard Grucela also are aware of his plight. The township took away Mr. Taylor's electric meter and refuse to give Mr. Taylor a permit, but do not cite (a law is being violated here) the reason. Even though, many many many people in LMBT have repaired with out the benefit of permits and have done work in the floodplain and floodway without any permits at all. FEMA has been to LMBT 3 times in 4 years requesting the LMBT issue floodplain permits in accordance with FHIP. But for LMBT its SOP -- following their own personal agendas.Flag

Name: Deborah E-Platt on Feb 13, 2008Comments: Although we are renters here along the Delaware, we have also had to live with all 3 floods completely surrounding our home, and were temporarily forced to evacuate each time. As one family who has experienced the trauma & hardship this entails, I sympathize with this victim, and all the others, created due to the mismanagement and mishandling of both the ongoing flood issues and the way in which people have had to struggle to get back what they have lost. Local State & Federal officials have a duty to take care of the citizens of this land, not put roadblocks in the way of helping them. Otherwise I believe a citizen should be able to sue the public offices & officials who have blocked reasonable efforts to be able to repair one's own property. Allow people to have a life & the right to personal safety in their own homes.Flag
