Name: Lisa Huff on Jan 22, 2004Comments: What is wrong with you people Don't you think that, if this were the perview of the government, the founders would have made their own resolutions to the effect of the one you're trying to instate If you were real patriots, you would hold the separation of Church and State sacrosanct. I don't pay your salary to put up with you wasting your time on this kind of shit. Shut up and do your damned job.Flag

Name: Jane Crowe on Jan 22, 2004Comments: I oppose the God Resolutions because it violates the doctrine of keeping religion and government seperate. It does represent the will of the people, because it excludes those who do not profess Christian faith.Flag

Name: Paul DeLeon on Jan 22, 2004Comments: Two years ago you and I helped pay to kill thousands of Afghan people to bring down the religious dictatorship there. Now I hear that some politicians want to set up a religious dictatorship in my country, using the God resolution as the opening salvo in a campaign for power. IFlag

Name: E Fischer on Jan 23, 2004Comments: "By their fruits, they shall be known" This nation, as some would say "under God" has left a trail of rotten fruit. We burned witches, enriched ourselves with slavery, engaged in ethnic cleansing that the Serbians would be proud of. Rely on gambling to augment education. No need to go further. I know of no one that is constrained to worship their God until their knees get sore...in church, with friends and family, in private schools. Our founding fathers, schooled in the classics and the history of Europe's religious wars, knew well what they were doing in separating church and state. Promote peace, not partisan interpretation of (our)God's will.Flag

Name: Peggy Watts on May 17, 2005Comments: I really can't see the point in this type of resolution. It is your job to use my taxes wisely and not waste it on laws discriminating against non-christians, The next step after this I fear will be a requirement for all Tennesseeans to become Christians or be sent to jail. This is a resolution which does nothing at all. It does not affect anything at all except religious discrimination. So please stop this waste of my tax dollars and concentrate on resolutions which actually help Tennesseeans instead of forcing your religious beliefs down our throats. I am not a christian and I live in Tennessee too and I pay taxes I also vote.Flag

Name: Dave Buck on Dec 17, 2007Comments: This is a divisive resolution. Commissioners admit their goal is to bring religion into their politics. Religion is NOT the foundation of our heritage. LIBERTY is our foundation. That means freedom from commissioners getting into the business of churches and religion!Flag

Name: Angela Danovi on Dec 17, 2007Comments: This is completely inappropriate for the Commission to even be debating. I would think with the recent turn of events and the removal of commissioners they would be far more interested in doing a good job for the citizens of Knox County rather than getting on the soapbox and beating their perverbial "christian" chests.Flag
