Name: Rick Root on Jul 16, 2007Comments: It's clearly a problem. We've had numerous accidents of crossover traffic, including one that resulted in the death of a good friend and coworker of mine. don't let anyone else die for lack of a barrier in this high traffic area.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Jul 18, 2007Comments: I believe guard rails are important to the safety of our motorists. I've seen numerous wrecks in SC & NC where people, including children, are killed after a car has crossed over the median. Many of these could have been prevented if a guard rail was in place. I do not believe we can put a price on life and believe the installation of guard rails on all interestates are important!Flag

NC can find a lot stuff to waste millions of dollars on, how about spending it on something worthwhile that will save lives.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Jul 31, 2007Comments: I was the car directly in front of the SUV that fishtailed out of control, crossed the median and hit George's car. I watched the whole thing play out as if I was watching a movie in slow motion. I can't remember how close the SUV was to my car, but he was gaining quickly on me... and I had cruise set at 74mph. Every time I drive to work, I think of how close I was to being sent across the median too. The highways in this state are absolutely terrible. How is it that we never have money for them Guard rails In Ontario Canada, concrete barriers separate ALL of the major highways (QEW, 401, 403 etc) for thousands of miles. Why this hasn't been done here already is beyond me. It makes me feel sick that the politicians down here don't care enough about the people they supposedly represent to provide them with simple safety measures like concrete barriers.Flag
