Name: William J. Matthews on Mar 4, 2013Comments: I am a university professor, and an expert on native fishes in the Ozark Mountains. Without doubt, waste from such a hog farm would, if released into Big Creek, have potential to be very harmful to the diverse native fishes.Flag

Name: Jack Kroeck on Mar 6, 2013Comments: opposed. I raise hogs in small numbers and would never want to be near a large operation or have one in the watershed of a "protected" river because I couldn't assure it wouldn't have an eventual impact there.Flag

Float the Buffalo before you decide it isn't worth protecting. Maybe you'll understand what stewardship means or maybe you'll capsize and hit your head on a rock.Flag

Name: Nathan Charles on Mar 6, 2013Comments: I am an Environmental Engineer that specializes in water quality and also spend a lot of time on the Buffalo River. I am outraged that ADEQ would even consider this type of land use within the watershed. NO industrial farm should be allowed anywhere within the Buffalo River watershed. This is a prestine natural stream and it needs to stay that way. Way too many people have fought to preserve this rare natural beauty, and the benefits of preserving natural state of the river far out weigh to little income hog farmers would see. Subsidize the farmers if you have to, but do NOT screw up my River!!!Flag
