| 4 | Danny Gallagher | Do not sacrifice our kids education. Reducing teachers is not the answer - let's start to look at the administrators first. |

Reducing teachers is not the answer - let's start to look at the administrators first. |
| 9 | Ian MacDonald | Cuts should commence with administrative staff before directly affecting children's education in this way. |

Reducing teachers is not the answer - let's start to look at the administrators first. |
| 11 | Malcolm Lee | Clearly education is not the priority to this administration that it was under Labour!
Do they not realise the importance of investing in our children?
This is a short term financial saving that will lead to greater expenditure in other areas in the future. |
| 12 | Scott Maclennan | Teachers in the Highlands and Islands are overstreched at the moment and schools over subscribed, what do these people think!!!! |
| 13 | Richard Jones | Please don't sacrifice our children's education for the sake of a few pounds.
Dirty schools and uneducated children are not the way forward for our society... let's start to look at the administrators before cleaners and teachers. |
| 14 | Anonymous | Surely, rather than saving money from a key area such as children's education, there could be other cost savings across the budget?
Please don't sacrifice the future of the Highlands. |
| 15 | C.Reed | This council ,like many others needs to make improvments in efficiency - but not at the expense of children. We all witness money being wasted on silly pretentious things such as "victorian lamposts" in the well to do areas and repaving the city centre which looks just as scruffy as before. |

| 17 | Anonymous | Efficiency savings have been imposed on schools' DSM budgets for the past number of years now under the guise of budget re-configuration. Schools can no longer absorb these budget cuts without it having a detrimental effect on the education of our children. Already staff morale in Highland schools is at an all time low and many staff are buying essential articles out of their own pockets just to keep their classrooms functioning. |

| 19 | Karen Williamson | I can't believe this can be in the children's best interests. |
| 20 | Graeme Brown | I am glad to sign the petition opposing the decision by the Highland Council on education which could cost the area 50 teachers and the same again in support staff. |

| 25 | John Boocock | The Independent Councillors are being led by the nose towards disaster by the SNP. The SNP slavishly toes the line handed down from their matsers in Edinburgh and all the while they slowly but surely dismantle the recent great advances made in the area of childcare, education and health care in the Highlands. Ask yourself: just what is the SNP policy on the areas they are cutting? No wonder they are wandering around Genurquhart Road cursing everyone who questions their fait accompli budget. |
| 26 | Karen MacGilp | Experienced teachers are being replaced by probationers, because Highalnd Council pay less in wages. Whilst I understand that probationers need to start somewhere....there should be room for experienced teachers alongside probationers |

| 33 | Laura Fraser | Appalled at this. Education should be a priority. Teachers have a hard enough job, this will just mean more signed off with stress! As for Malina MacDonald loosing her job as play co-ordinator, what is the council thinking of? She has worked so hard and provided some much for the area already. We need to teach children nowadays how to learn through play with the help and guidance of qualified and motivated people such as Malina who gives 101% to her job. |
| 34 | mrs matthews | my son is already affected by lack of funds ect, now considering home education its that bad |

| 40 | Anonymous | Once again councillors are attacking the soft option and cutting education. However, Peter Peacock when a councillor in Highland did not cover himself in glory in this regard either so he clearly has either 'seen the light' or seen political opportunism. |

| 43 | Mrs D Wilson | I think this is ridiculous. Our children no longer get music, p.e., art teachers, etc. We rely on the ability of class teachers in specialised areas. We have few enough support staff. We do not need to lose any more. |
