Jonathan BainbridgeGiven the complete inability of West London to handle the existing volume of traffic generated by Heathrow Airport it seems complete madness to consider further expansion

Mark BridgerHow can the Govt really support the expansion when they at the same time are asking all of us to mininmize our carbon footprint. The govt only want the expansion because of trade the extar taxes from more flights. The Govt will benefit from us as well as, being the nanny state in taking more stealth tax off us to encourage us not to use our cars - but obviously have more access from the expansion to travel abroad more often. Double speak going on here! Also I live in Hounslow, and if I leave my bedroom window ajar for healthy sleeping, I have to clean all the soot and pollution the fllwing morning from the aircarft off my furniture..... its a joke what it must be doighto my lungs; and that is if I can get a decent night sleep without interruption from the planes!!!
AnonymousI strongly oppose further expansion of Heathrow, we just don't need it.
Nick PrattI am totally opposed to the Heathrow expansion and also to the unregulated expansion of air travel because of its affect on the environment both locally and on a world wide basis.

AnonymousAs well as damaging the planet, the noise pollution for those of us that live under a flight path is highly damaging and intrusive.
james payneWe have been made prisoners in our own country persecuted by the policies of the government and given less human rights than a criminal. We live by Heathrow Airport London and because of airport expansion have been trapped by UK government policy devaluing the house we own and making it impossible for us to move. The Airport has not even been given the permission for a new runway and is far from meeting Europe's pollution level what they need for it to go ahead. On top of that we have not even been given any timescale to be able to get on with living our lives basic human rights taken away because the project involved the blessing of the UK government. . (Human rights)? We don't seem to have any even a criminal or asylum seeker in this country England are above decent hard working people in this country. This is the State of this country, An English man's home is supposed to be his castle. Not threatened bullied by big companies unable to move, Held to ransom and then when these big companies decide eventually we will be forced out of our homes not given the compensation we deserve. I cannot get a house similar for the money we will be offered nor will it cover the pain and suffering caused. I would even have to purchase a car my time and my running costs as at present I can cycle to work WHY? WHY should I have to subsidise multi million pound profit making companies .In France they was given 2x to 3x the value of homes this is how we should be treated not letting multi billion pound companies bully families for profits.
maxine payneWHY should I have to subsidise multi million pound profit making companies .In France they was given 2x to 3x the value of homes this is how we should be treated not letting multi billion pound companies bully families for profits. It wouldn't hurt to make sure you’re English born hard working citizens are at least given human rights fair treatment and compensation like given to terrorists and criminals.
charlie payneI am 16 now and the treatment to my mum and dad and all of my friends and neighbours is terrible. We all live near Heathrow and would like to be treated fairly I find it disgusting what can happen to people in this country. The Government have taken away all our rights and basically given private companies the power to remove us from our homes if they build a runway. If they don’t my mum and dad will be in a bad situation anyway because they have caused all the prices to go down where we live I don’t want to see my mum crying anymore or arguing with my dad about the runway I don’t think I will ever forget this time of my life.
Jim BackusWhenever I've stayed with friends who live in Richmond on Thames I've been woken up by early morning flights. The noise is already unbearable. It is time to call a halt to airport expansion.
Eleonore PironneauI totally oppose the expansion of Heathrow which in my mind is only pleasing the lobby of aviation but disrespect the welfare of thousands of people. We live in a time where travelling in an airplane should be made more difficult and more expensive due to the air pollution/global warming, the coming shortage of petrol, and the need for a minimum of calm in our often stressed lives. I'm shocked by the government plans and its disregard for the people's feedback. Eleonore Pironneau

Tom ClarkA third runway would lead to environmental armeggeddon in West London. Heathrow is a cancer that needs containing, not expanding.

AnonymousEaling experiences substantial noise from Heathrow take-offs already, and noise from a third runway would further damage quality of life and raise levels of stress here. I am most strongly opposed to it.

AnonymousA massive project which would destroy hundreds of homes and shatter people's lives, even before the concrete sets.
AnonymousThe noise is building intolerable, especially at night. It is scandalous that airlines are not taxed fully on their fuel. Consumers should not be encouraged to fly and not pay the full cost of the damage done to the environment. A £5 trip to Prague is not a priority.

Steven FobelI live in Hampstead NW3 and am under the flight path on certain times of the day (most notably 6.30am and 11.30pm approximately), with aircraft flying directly overhead. Noise is also particularly bad during the summer months through the day. The aircraft noise is exceptionally intrusive already. Expanding Heathrow will only make matters worse. BAA should be forced to sell Gatwick and Stanstead to encourage greater competion. Incoming flights were most passengers transfer to connecting flights should be moved to other national airports or even the Continent. These flights should not be flying over Londoners.

Patricia MurphyI think that Heathrow is big enough. It needs to reduce flights not expand.

Shirley MunshiThere is far too much pollution and noise in this area as it is without the third runway and it is going to affect so many lives, including mine, and what about the poor people whose homes could end up under concrete.
