| 16901 | Claire Bowden | I strongly urge the government to drop plans to expand heathrow due to the immision levels it would produce if it were to go ahead. Even if immision targets are met it would still ultimately have a damaging efect on the environment which i believe is far more important than the financial benefits that would be had if the decision to proceed with plans were made. |
| 16902 | Miki Jablkowska | Do we NEVER learn? Do the government (our employees after all) never listen or learn? The government HAVE TO be brave and send a message that increased pollution is not acceptable. It really is that simple! Not much intelligence required here! Or is it all to do with money and short-term thinking? Mmmm, yes, it certainly seems so. Try explaining that to all those who will have to live with greater pollution, noise. |
| 16903 | Lily Pollock | I think Councillor Stephen Greenhalgh says it all very well in his letter to residents. We do not need a third runway, nor does our environment. It smacks of handouts and personal gain to a few with no regard to how this could affect a great many people. |

| 16906 | Allegra Mostyn-Owen | drop this short-sighted plan |
| 16907 | Dr Catherine St. Clair | The expansion of Heathrow would be a short-sighted move, in financial and environmental terms. How are we to meet our pollution-reduction targets when we are increasing pollution in this way? |

| 16930 | MRS D CAYCI | |
| 16931 | Beverley Cohen | My reasons for opposition to the 3rd Heathrow Runway proposal follow:
1. Heathrow is too close to London to make it yet larger than it alreaday is, posing as it already does a serious threat to the environment of the city and the well being of the citizens from many points of view, not least being access to the airport along the M4.
2. It is not necessary to enlarge Heathrow despite the cries of those people who claim commercial considerations require if on the false grounds of dire financial consequences.
3. A large part of Heathrow business is tourism. A great part of tourism traffic is transit passengers. A far better solution would be to enlarge othe British city airports which would improve the economies of those cities.
4. if the above point were seriously considered trains, such as Gatwick Express, and the rail link to Stanstead could be used as a template to link other cities to main airports without pushing everything at London to the misery of its citizens and the detriment to the environment of the city. |

| 16936 | Craig Hatcher | I am thoroughly opposed to the building of a third runway |

| 16941 | Anonymous | We oppose further expansion of Heathrow.
We call on the Government and BAA to drop plans to:
build a third runway and a sixth terminal;
increase the number of flights using the existing runways by getting rid of runway alternation. |
| 16942 | Robert Brown | Sheer madness to consider such a project. |
