| 16701 | M Courtney | How can a government agree to this when they are asking us to reduce our carbon footprint, less holidays which include flying |
| 16702 | shant manoukian | * The arguments of existing capacity being full are rediculous. Of course they are at full capacity! It is in the airports interest to operate at full capacity and they will always reduce charges to ensure they are. If BAE does its job right, adding an extra runway and eventually terminal will be at full capacity too shrotly after opening, and then what?
* Our existing infrastructure would not be able to cope with the increased traffic.
* Noise pollution is already intolerable.
* Any talk of green, quieter planes is rediculous. There 2 manufacturers of planes - Boeing and Airbus operate a duopoloy and have no intention or incentive to bring in these planes. Even if they did, it would be many decades before existing newly acquired planes get shelved as they have a 30 year life! Most airlines have just upgraded their fleet so they will be in no hurry to do so again. |

| 16711 | christopher | stop destroying history for the sake of a slab of concrete |
| 16712 | Campaigner | This is unaccetable, there are enough airports and terminals to keep the economy going and add to the misery of local people;s lives and pollution.
Its greed, arrogance and ignorning the population by the government. If we allow the government to get a way with this, what will be next? |
| 16713 | John Ainsworth | Although the governemnt has announced its decision in favour of the 3rd runway, I hope that this decision can be changed. Ii is absolutely unacceptable in the light of the need to reduce carbon emissions. |

| 16722 | Kelly Grant | This design by the government is a disgrace. It makes a mockery or all the recycling and energy efficient ways we are all trying to fit into our lives on a daily basis. |
| 16723 | Jennifer Jolliff | Where is the sense? I cannot understand the rationale here - we are constantly being reminded to reduce our carbon footprint and here we have the Government giving the "go ahead" to build another runway! Has anyone approving this scheme got a brain? This will have a devastating affect on the environment let alone people losing their homes - it is disgusting you ought to be ashamed of yourselves. |

| 16725 | Feroz Hoda | The noise is already disturbing in a Chiswick and removal of alternation in particular would mean we would lose the short spells of quiet we have. |
| 16726 | Mar soler | why government doesnt invest in railway and makes trasport fairer around the country |
| 16727 | Katherine Ford | disgusting! |
| 16728 | Anonymous | The extra noise pollution alone will cause huge distress and discomfort to local residents - its bad enough now (starting at 7 am going every 2 mintes until 11 ish at night). As usual these decisions are made by out-of-touch people who live miles away and are totally unaffected by the actual day-to-day reality. |
| 16729 | Anonymous | I fully back any campaign to oppose the extension of Heathrow airport. How can the government cave in to rich outfits such as BAA and the unions?
Apart from destroying local communities this extension is against any climate policies Gordon Brown has made.
I will back this campaign to the end

| 16735 | Sandra Campbell | The evidence shows that there is already a significant problem with noise pollution and environmental issues emanating from Heathrow. Any expansion will only increase these problems therefore, I am totally opposed to these plans. |
| 16736 | Anonymous | I am incredulous that the government could be so irresponsible as to back this project in the light of all that we now understand about global warming and the environment. Please stop plans for a 3rd runway! Thank You! |

| 16738 | Andrew Prince | I do not want to see another run way or terninal building at Heathrow. Apart from the environmental damge from increased planes - using more land for the expansion of the concret jungle is a bad thing. |

I completely agree with all opposition to the expansion & third runway development at Heathrow
Keep it going! |
| 16742 | TimGunnell | It is a scandal of epic proportions that a project of this scale can be given a green light without a parliamentary vote. We need to take a look at just how close Ministers are to those who work within the "aviation industry". |
