Anonymous | The day we lose respect for the dead and start building runways through cemetarys will be a very sad day...
Phil Lockey | There are alternatives, make the aircraft more efficient, more earth friendly.

Kelley Rush | I fundamentally oppose the expansion at Heathrow and am extremely frustated at the go ahead given for the new runway at Stanstead. I think its time for the Government to genuinely commit to the principles in its own climate change reports!

Melanie Cartwright | I have made a commitment to travel by rail to any place that I can, ie the Uk, Europe. Last Summer we went by rail to Southern Spain and had a lovely time - we do not need to travel by air and neither to most other people. There fore we need less airports not more.

Beth Marshall | We need a government who is willing to make tough, even unpopular decisions to tackle the reality of climate change.

Anonymous | I am a resident of Wimbledon and the noise levels and frequency of aircraft are already excessive. If the existing runways are permitted to increase flights and a third runway is given the go-ahead, I will simply have to move house.
Mr Grant Tregonning | Please take into consideration the damage you are causing to OUR planet.

Margaret Sullivan | I call on the Government to have the vision and commitment to build a new airport in the Thames Estuary which would much better preserve our position as a major hub, while being environmentally more friendly.
Anonymous | Yet another halfbaked plan with barely any thought put into it. Why cant the government open up its eyes fully for a change to see the whole picture rather than the ££££ and buddy BAA

jema page | i hope they dont do it as who needs 3 runways i doubt they do especially if its not going to be good for the environment and future generations
| 15889 | Anonymous | Living under the flight path I certainly do not want any more flights waking me in the early hours even though I have double glazing.
If the government are serious about climate change they cannot allow this & runway alternation is just waiting for the accident to happen. |
Amy Whittingslow | This must be stopped otherwise we shall be jepardising the lives of endangered spiecies(and possibly getting more) and further ruining our environment.
Tiberiu |
Mike Miles | The Third runway must be stopped and runway alternation must continue.

kaye brennan | as unsustainable as a second runway at Stansted as just as unwelcome.
Anonymous | In the light of what the scientific world is now unequivocally telling us about carbon emissions and climate change, it is utterly irresponsible to invest more public money into expanding our air travel capability. These funds would be much better invested into providing more sustainable and less damaging alternatives, for example rail transport. Will we tell our children cheap flights to Europe were more important to us than their future?
