15202 AnonymousNO THIRD RUNWAY TO BE BUILT - it will kill all life in the small villages around and will not be good for climate change .......say yes to the train!!
15203 Glyn WrightA third runway should not be built. The world is changing faster than the planners and forecasters think. Air travel will suffer a decline when the true cost in resources and pollution is reflected in much higher fares that will be mandated by local and central government. A third runway cannot possibly be justified now on any rational or moral grounds.
15204 AnonymousHow can we expect to reduce our CO2 emissions in this country if we continue to encourage aircraft use?

15218 Deborah BrownNO to expansion !
15219 Alison McCreaI cannot believe that a government supposedly concerned about climate change is actively considering expanding air traffic. What happened to joined-up government?

15226 peter russellFor Heaven's sake! Building another runway at Heathrow is an environmentally disastrous idea. What the airlines need is to have the same tax put on their products, journeys, and fuel, as other forms of transport, to create a "level playing field." The idea of any more runways being built anywhere would then disappear as air travel would reduce by a significant amount - and since most air travel is now for holidays, probably a 50% reduction since nobody NEEDS to have holidays abroad. In planetary terms, what hypocrisy that we all fiddle while Rome burns....

15230 Dr James LarcombeI live many miles away from Heathrow but cannot think that this is of any benefit to anyone but shareholders of BAA

15239 James KilleenThe Sterns report highlights the true economic cost of climate change, which would dwarf any gains from a third runway at Heathrow. Why does this government insist on following contradictory policies?
15240 Gill Tavner
15241 Christina MartinezThe only truly democratic society is one that gives the people most affected by a decision the right to make that decision. Ordinary Londoners will pay with their health and peace of mind if a third Heathrow runway is pushed through by profiteers.
15242 Jane BeenstockPlease don't ignore the signifcant negative impact this expansion would have on both local and global issues.
15243 sharon Stonehold
15244 Heather BorastonIf the proposed runway is built it will show the nation just how hypocritical the Government is. How can you say you are in favour of trying to reduce carbon emission and then build something that will greatly increase them?

15248 catherine GroutI am fast losing any respect for a government that keeps ignoring the will of the people. The time has come to be shown the way by courageous, fearless individuals ! prime Minister?
15249 Roger ToddThe growth in air travel is unsustainable. The Government should be taking action to cut air travel, not encouraging further growth. The Government should be taking radical action to encourage short haul passengers to travel by rail.
15250 Robin CurryI have 11 grandchildren and one day they will look me in the eye and ask why someone didn't stop the expansion of Heathrow with its resultant increase in CO2 emissions. I understand the economics etc but please for my grandchildrens sake, don't do it
