Susan Murray | The government cannot talk about its green credentials and its efforts to tackle climate change whilst still going on supporting expnsion of airport capacity in the UK
Susan Murray |
Anonymous | Apart from the loss of homes, extra take-off and landings, what about traffic to and from the airport. The M25 is constantly at a standstill around peak hours and holiday times. The pollution from the extra vehicles going to and from the airport should also be under consideration. We don't need another runway in this part of the country, move it to a less congested part as not everybody who wants to commute by plane needs to arrive or depart from Heathrow. More internal flights are needed to disperse passengers around the country. Wake up government before you destroy London and it's surrounding areas for good.
Mrs J Boorer |
Christian Ball | This is madness I already enjoy the benefits of the northern runway - to add to it by doubling the number of flights and sandwich Chiswick into a three lane super aircraft highway for 70% of my life - what planet do these Ministers live on?
Dave Robins | It is completely insane to even contemplate the expansion of Heathrow.West London cannot cope with the increased noise, pollution or traffic congestion it will cause.Enough is enough.

james willis | the end of alternation and increased noise is farcical.... try living under the flight path.
Cllr Barbara Reid, LB Hounslow | Heathrow would almost double in size and current runway alternation would be lost. It's and intolerable burden to expect people to take. We must all work together to defeat the government's plans.

Carole Bonifas | This proposal is total madness and will destroy any remaining vestiges of reasonable quality of life for west London.
Carole | This proposal is total madness; expansion should be targetted at regions which need the economic boost, not at overcrowded west London!
John Waterman | the IPCC and other leading scientists have reached consensus on the existance and drastic affects of climate change. A future generation (or maybe 4) will look back on this decision, should it go ahead, and wonder how so few could make a decision against so many. It is lunacy. It's short-term profit over long-term sustainability. Well, I won't have it!

Richard Jennings | I already live under the flightpath. Any further expansion or changes to the alternation of use of runways will make life unbearable and is totally unacceptable.
Mr P Dabrowski | Further expansion of Heathrow can only destroy both individual people's lives, communities in general and any negligible credibility our politicians still have if this is allowed to go ahead contrary to all assurances made at previous enquiries for Terminals 4 & 5

Peter Ludbrook | BAA have consistently lied to us every time Heathrow has been expanded. They have to be stopped.
Johnny Denis | We should be reducing total numbers of flights
Simon Beards | We don't need more air travellers or the pollution that will increase dramatically. We need people to travel less so our planet can recover from the rapid deterioration we have caused over recent years. Air travel should shrink not expand.
Dr Kaihsu Tai |
Anonymous | We have become hostages of Heathrow profits. We pay more attention to people coming in London than the ones living in. Where to live in London without having a plane roaring/going through your living room? Yes, against the expansion, increase fo flights.
Svetlana Jokic | Absolutely against any expansion and increase in flights! The sky over London is completely staturated. We need our own piece of a sky!
Debra Rolfe |
Anonymous | The economic case for expansion of Heathrow has not been proven - it is one of those well versed myths. The Government has admitted in parliamentary questions that this is particularly the case for night flights. At all costs the Government must keep runway alternation. It preserves a quality of life for people living locally.
Alan Marlow | We totally apposed to the expansion on Heathrow.
