I have been staring at the news from the Congo all morning while trying to draft these emails to the ministry and honestly it is just so heavy it is hard to keep going sometimes. People keep messaging me their own frustrations about how the United Nations just sits there and it helps to know I am not the only one feeling this absolute exhaustion and urgency. I really need to stay focused on getting this in front of the right people because the silence from the officials is getting harder to ignore by the minute.

I honestly never thought this would gain this much steam but here we are and it feels so wild to see people finally paying attention to what is happening in the Congo. It is easy to feel small when looking at the news but looking at all the people joining in makes me think we might actually get someone in Ottawa to look up from their desks for once.
