--Fluoride is the only chemical added to drinking water for the purpose of medication.  It is added to prevent tooth decay.

--There are no benefits from ingesting fluoride.  All benefits come from the application of fluoride directly to the teeth.

--There is no reason to add fluoride to tap water.  Everyone can choose whether they want to consume fluoride with products such as toothpaste and mouthwash with are widely available with and without fluoride.

--The same decrease in tooth decay that fluoride has been credited with in the United States over the last 50 years has also happened in European countries that have never added fluoride to water.

--There is no trend of increased cavities when there is a decrease in fluoridation. Most of the fluoride that is added to water is wasted since the majority of tap water to used on lawns, cars, dishes, and in toilets and showering.
