Comments: Where there is a high risk that asylum seekers could be tortured again or worse, it is vital that human beings be allowed safety in the UK. Particularly when the individual is clearly doing everything he can to help himself and others. This person may eventually make a significant contribution to this country and to his home country.

Comments: It is absurd that an educated and productive member of the community would be forced to return to a country where he faces a significant danger of torture or inhuman or degrading treatment. Such a outcome is not only immoral but is in breach of Article 3 of the UK Human Rights Act and the European Convention on Human Rights (Soering v United Kingdom, European Court of Human Rights, 7 July 1989). If the UK wishes to adhere to its international human rights obligations, the deportation of Mr Njike cannot proceed.

Comments: It is my understanding that as a politicl activist and campaigner Guy remains at risk from the Cameroonian authorities. Given he travelled out of Cameroon on a false passport he was able to avoid detention. This does not imply he is not at risk.
