Kale KaposhilinI would much rather support local businesses like Neko's-Dedrick's pharmacy than encourage yet another multinational corporation. Please make the local choice on this one Kingston!
ania aldrichDid I not just drive by huge CVS in Kingston? How many do we need?
Steffen Hydercvs never helps communities, the only thing they seem to offer for me is a parking lot so I can support local businesses. cheap, low grade goods only offer a temporary fix, then we're stuck with the snake-eating-it's-tail strip, much like the ulster strip. I want uptown to stay a walking community, with locally owned and operated businesses.

Elissa Jane MastelLet's focus our energy into improving independent local business not only for the Strand, but how about focusing on developing business in gorgeous Uptown Kingston. The area has so much potential to be so much more than it is. Let's increase funding, marketing, incentives for small local businesses to flourish in Kingston. CVS and the other big box stores have enough money and do not do anything for local landscapes and these big box stores are destroying our economy!!!

Alex KahnSo few places like uptown Kingston remain intact and vital. Why endanger a historic and culturally significant cityscape to create just another cookie-cutter corporate appendage?
Kelly ShieldsI know the family that owns the pharmacy in uptown Kingston.....it would really be a shame to see them go.

AnonymousUptown Kingston is hurting as it is with new businesses closing almost every week. It's sad that this beautiful area is not thriving but dying. A new CVS would only hurt the areas businesses and create another eyesore. We already have Walgreens, here there is absolutely no need for yet another chain drugstore to infiltrate our town.

e hoenshell-watsonenough of the big box stores in this "historic"town--allow the small family-run, locally-owned businesses to thrive--making kingston have the same stores as anytown usa just makes it trashier!!!

Casey KurttiAs a recent arrival in downtown Kingston I am reminded of the great days in the 80's in the West Village-don't mess up the revival with CVS, etc

Ashley GardnerI wish uptown would stay open later during the week. I love it there. I do not want CVS to come into town... No way!!!

chris maycome on! like we need another drug store. Uptown is the only worth while/ appealing part of Kingston left. Lets not ruin it .
Mark MorgansternMore chain stores is not the answer. Sprawl does not create community.
Jay BlotcherAdded revenue is nice, but big box chain stores merely take money out of the community! There are sane and lucrative alternatives to ransoming off Kingston to huge corporate companies that will only harm local businesses!
Patti GibbonsI agree with above. We have enough pharmacies in the uptown area, as well as there being a CVS midtown, never mind all the other pharmacies in Kingston...by 32, and the various locations in the Mall zone. As a resident I now avoid both Washington Ave, and Broadway due to traffic...never mind heading out to the Mall area. I am sad to see what historic Kingston is turning into. PLEASE do NOT build MORE BOX stores in this city and look at see what we can do to help the economy and the citizens of the city in other ways!
