| 53 | Neal Grover | pro business means pro LOCAL business! CVS profits leave the community, NEKOS stays right here.

| 56 | Bob DiBella | The tax base of the city will not be inhanced if another local business is put out of business. |
| 57 | Patricia Murphy | Design guidelines for the Washington Avenue corridor should be drawn up and approved before any decision is made re CVS. The readiness to OK a CVS at that site is unfortunately typical of the knee-jerk reaction Kingston has been taking towards any big business that wants to locate here. I am not anti-development. I support development that is appropriate for a particular location. Unless we want to turn Washington Avenue into yet another strip mall, this is not appropriate development. |
| 58 | Anonymous | I totally agree with all that has been said above. In adition, we need to come up with incentives to revitalize the Uptown business area with locally owned and operated businesses that reflect the unique aspects of our City. |
| 59 | Kenneth Horn | Smart development is desired not saturation of drug stores. |

This is a different world.
Kingston does not need another mega-drugstore selling merchandise made in China. |

| 63 | Anonymous | I request that this CVS proposal be rejected outright, or at least that there be a moratorium on development in the Washington Ave. corridor until it’s impact on Uptown commerce can be studied, the county finalizes its plans for the Intermodal Transportation Center, and Kingston and Ulster have had time to establish design standards for the corridor. |

| 73 | Barbara Jordan | We do not need another chain drug store or a bank or a gas station...A tax base is important, but maintaining and restoring the historical character and integrity of the Uptown District should be top priority. Let's encourage business development that will provide high paying jobs and longterm growth...lets think about the "big picture." |

| 76 | Peter Mack | The Nekos family has a proud history as a local family serving Kingstonians. It would be an injustice to allow CVS to destroy a true "Mom and Pop" store. |
| 77 | Emerson DuBois | I can't imagine how anyone could think it is a good idea to put a new drug store in that location. |

| 81 | Julie Hedrick | Small locally based businesses support small communities, they're personally invested in making it work, what happens when CVS decides the numbers don't work in Kingston ? will we have another ugly skeleton of a building on our streets? |

| 85 | Susanna Swan | This is a quality-of-life issue. There has been no crying need of an additional pharmacy. What IS needed is an eqivalent replacement for Ames, such as another Family Dollar store to replace the one lost on Broadway. Any study would show that a CVS or anything of that sort is NOT a good idea for us. |

| 94 | Beth Lonergan | Having just moved back to this area and bought a home in Kingston, I strongly oppose this movement to bring another huge store into the city proper. I think it's time for long term thinking instead of quick fixes to the business development plans for this city. If we pool our resources to attract DIFFERENT kinds off businesses, what is unique about Kingston can flourish. Simply take example from all of the surrounding towns which have benefitted from preserving the quaint shopping village motif in RECENT YEARS (Hudson and Saugerties stand out as the prime examples) with amazing revenues coming in. Keep the corporations out of the places where we can think progressively beyond the immediate, and give other businesses with deeper roots in the community space to grow! |
| 95 | Gerald Brown | Don't be shortsighted, look long term, ie don't go for the short term fix. |
| 96 | Anonymous | While I no longer live in the region, upon my return I hope that Kingston will attempt to retain its unique locally-driven Uptown business flair, which is precisely what encourages myself and a plethora of individuals to visit the area.
Please reconsider the proposed CVS! |

| 99 | Stephanie Bassler | I work in Kingston and pass this site every day. It would be a shame to see it developed without regard for its wonderful historical context. It has such great potential! |
| 100 | Caitlin Kaposhilin | Please don't build another chain pharmacy in Kingston! We have plenty already and need to support our local economy. |
