AnonymousweavervilleI am concerned about the type of traffic using this intersection with the number of high school students travelling the road and the number of school buses that use this route. I also feel the facility would greatly detract from the asthetics of our community.
David Meier MillsWeavervilleI live and work within one mile of the proposed location. I am in agreement with all aspects of this petition. There are many accidents in the area already, due to the High School traffic, and the added large trucks will make what were minor accidents into those with fatalities. I do not want to see what was a beautiful area and community be reduced to a dirty industrial area. Please do not allow this to happen to our homes. Thank you, David Mills

Amanda WallaceWeaverville, NC 28787I wholeheartedly reaffirm what is written above. I , along with my 3 teens drive along this road daily. There is more then great potential for accidents there and it would be a tradgedy waiting to happen should you allow the concrete plant to be there. Property values would go down. This is a no win situation for the local residents.
Beth CarrollAshevilleWe need to think of our children, the road there is already dangerous enough without adding huge cement trucks. I live off of New Stock rd. and we have huge dump trucks that use this rd. daily, and I can tell you they fly down New stock and we have had numerous wrecks. I hope for all concerned that they look elsewhere for this project!!!

Thomas & Sandra DoyleWeavervilleThis proposed concrete plant does not belong in this neighborhood. We do not want nor need additional water and air degradation, nor do we need, nor do we want the additional commercial heavy truck traffic.

AnonymousHalf Moon Bay, CAI am a frequent visitor to Weaverville because my son and his family live here. My two grandchildren go to school within 2 miles of Murphy Hill Road. We have been advised you intend to build a concrete batching in this area. We are vehemently opposed to such a potential hazardous endeavor so close to a very rural area and 3 schools.

Margie HennWeavervilleThere are many good reasons not to put this plant there, but since it's close to schools, it should be a No-Brainer. Anyone who is willing to put a child at risk, is bad news. Do the owners want to live next door to it and send their kids to the schools it will impact? IF the answer is YES, then they are lying or they are not very smart and we know what we are dealing with.

Peggy J. and Richard S. Ball JrWeavervilleWe oppose a cement plant in this growing area where ghe infrastructure is outdated at it is. I think if the politicans and their familes lived in this area, it would be a no brainer that it would not be here. Its ok that the children in this area to be put in harm's way but not the politican's family!!

Cecil BothwellAshevilleWe passed a zoning law under which this plant is not legal. (Hence the request for a variance.) Lets enforce the law (for a welcome change.) No variance for this plant.

AnonymousWeavervilleOur property is not adjacent, but we get our water from the same aquafer.
AnonymousWeavervilleWe share concern about availability of water.
Lenard NelsonWeavervilleIf I was a decision maker in our community I would be ashamed of myself for allowing this plant to be built. The health effects are well documented - our delicate mountain ecosystem will be effected for generations. And to allow it so close to so many schools - so many lives are going to be effected. It is completely inappropriate for Weaverville residents.
Jill NelsonWeavervilleThe plant is a bad idea for the community, for other businesses and for our children in nearby schools. Please use your better judgment to create a future for the community that does not include this health hazard. We don't need it and we don't want it.
JOAN K POWERSWEAVERVILLE, NCMY HUSBAND AND I AND OUR DAUGHTER HAVE JUST BUILT AND MOVED INTO NEW HOMES WITHIN A HALF MILE OF THE PROPOSED PLANT. WE ARE EXTREMELY CONCERNED REGARDING THE EFFECT THIS PLANT WOULD MOST DEFINITELY HAVE ON THE AIR QUALITY, WATER POLUTION, WATER TABLE, TRAFFIC SAFETY. AND THE CERTAIN DEVALUATION OF OUR SIZEABLE PROBERTY INVESTMENT!!! MOST IMPORTANTLY, WE WILL SHORTLY HAVE TWO OF OUR CHILDREN AND ALL FIVE OF OUR GRANCHILDREN LIVING ON THIS PROPERTY, BREATHING THE AIR, DRINKING THE WELL WATER AND TRAVELING THE ALREADY DANGEROUS MURPHY HILL ROAD!!!!! DO NOT ALLOW THIS PLANT TO BE BUILT IN THIS RESIDENTIAL AREA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
