Anonymous | Weaverville, NC 28787 | Please consider the fact that we are a community. There are RESIDENTS within FEET of the proposed concrete site. Also, the water and safety issues are of Primary concern to us all as a community, as we will all be affected by the intake of our water...which as the Asheville Citizen-Times lists as at Extreme Drought stage.
Sherry Peek | Weaverville | I drive two children to school every morning. One to NBES and the other to NWR. Traffic is always backed up and already this year I have seen three accidents. Please reconsider putting heavy traffic on these roads. Also consider the health risks to our children.

| 268 | Phil Rymes | Weaverville | On traffic concerns alone, the petition for conditional use permit should be turned down. Other than major highways, the state of North Carolina has mostly two lane roads with no shoulder or additional pavement for turnouts or breakdown repair. Add to this equation the twisting roads of the foothills area and the relative size and thus reduction in navigability of these larger trucks and the number of large school buses in the area and possibility of major accident is magnified by a factor of hundreds. There are so many areas in this county that are more suitable for such traffic patterns.
Additionally, the financial impact of such a presence is devastating. The additional tax dollars generated by the granting of this proposal will be offset many fold by the reduction of values and, therefore, tax revenue of the properties surrounding it. Both currently existing structures and the planned future development that will be suspended by granting of this permit should be considered in the forecasting of future tax revenue.
I understand that the petitioner owns a particular parcel and is trying to bring use to it. The focus of the Board of Adjustment should be in granting permits to encourage the highest and best use of all parcels in Buncombe County. Such would not be the case in the granting of this petition. Rather than granting such petition, the Board should be encouraging the petitioner to pursue a land use that is more in concert with the community needs and more lucrative for the petitioner and the county as a whole. |

Carey and Loren Metts | Weaverville, NC 28787 | Please know that the construction of this cement plant will be of great danger to the children of our community! We are very concerned...please do not allow this to happen to our North Buncombe community. Sincerely, Loren Metts
Anonymous | Weaverville | NO PLANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Michelle Ranieri | Weaverville, NC 28787 | The construction of this plant would have a grave negative impact on property values in the Weaverville surrounding areas. It's placement is far too exposed. At best, it should be relocated to a less economically destructive location.
Anonymous | Weaverville | Please do not allow a concrete plant in our community.

Scott Shields | Weaverville | We do not need a concrete plant in the north and expecially in the middle of our school system where hundreds of parents, students, and parents drive 5 days a week.
tom garden | Weaverville | Coming into Weaverville on I 26 from Tennessee the concrete plant would be an unwelcoming sight. That location is very public, in full view of the interstat and the entrance to the high school.
Catherine Ray | Asheville | I do not live near where the plant is going to reside but my son does go to school out there.
Josh, Stephanie and Elloree Troop | Weaverville | We are concerned that this plant will be built near our residential communities. I know that plant owners and operators would not intentionally endanger the health of our community, but there is no way to completely prevent something from happening.

Mary W. Herold | Weaverville, NC 28787 | I am a summer resident from May-Oct. I have lived at this address for 23 yrs. I am appalled that the commissioners would even consider allowing a cement factory in a residential neighborhood. Keep me posted. Thanks for all you are doing.
George Ponder | Weaverville, NC 28787 | The article that I read talked about the traffic count onMurphy Hill Rd. Has anyone checked the count on Weaverville Hwy. at the foot of the hill?
