Name: Anonymous on May 19, 2011Comments: Guys, let's stop being greedy! Use the power for positive things. Do you think we're going to allow the government to tell us that because the country needs energy and there's no other alternative, we have to crack holes everywhere. So in the future we'll have lots of energy but no food, no farmers, no clean water and health problems. Make people happy, be a good person, money means nothing and is only another addiction this world has. Wake up!Flag

Using coal seam gas mining is taking away the initiative to develop a form of energy that will not pollute these resources. Please take action to stop CSGM and focus on developing alternatives.Flag

Name: Brian Alexander on May 19, 2011Comments: I fully agree with the sentiments of the letter, and consider coal seam gas mining a great danger to both water supplies and the growing of food. For the well being of future generations it has to be stopped until a totally safe way of gas extraction has been invented. The gas will always be there if the extraction is halted, and one day it may be possible to extrac t it safely. The danger to the future cannot be underestgimated from this form of mining , water is life, and you cannot grow food without water, nor can the environment prosper without its water supply being fouled by toxic chemicals. Name: Margaret Smith on May 19, 2011Comments: After seeing the Gaslands documentary how people were able to ignite the water because it contained so many chemicals as a result of the fracking process I suddenly realised how dangerous this is to our health, our way of life and our environmment.. Our area is special and I dont feel that destroying it for the sake of gas supplies for a few years is worth it - ONCE THE DAMAGE IS DONE IT WILL BE TOO LATE!!!!Flag

Name: Russell Good on May 19, 2011Comments: This is the most important environmental concern since settlement. And not only that, it is also the 'edge of the wedge' of what has been termed extreme mining. This is caused by peak oil. The easy reserves of oil and gas are gone. We are left with strip and deep sea mining. The playing field is changing quickly, but environmental intregity is lost in the rush for dollars. Like South Africa has done, we must have a moratorium on all CSG mining.Flag

To even think about Hydraulic Fracturing the Earth to let the Methane out, using and polluting our water is absurd. You all can be Heros, to your Grandchildren, by Standing Together United, on this issue.and Writing many Letters to both State and Federal Members of all parties ! To Safe Guard our Land and Water for all Time. France has stopped all CSG mining even 'tho that had begun !
