Name: Ariel Rosato on Jan 28, 2013Comments: Can it not be seen the environmental impacts that logging has on Mother Earth? All in the name of making a few bucks; and what does that really mean? Money doesn't last forever, but the forest could sustain should it be left as is and should the community be able to remain united to the land. How would you feel if your children's legs were sawed off?Flag

Green Diamond, please hear the community on this one, otherwise, you'll face a lot of opposition and many hurdles from all of us joining to defend this sacred habitat! Jacqueline MayrandFlag

Name: Stanley Larson on Feb 2, 2013Comments: This coastal area is precious to all of the USA, and to visitors from all over the world. Nothing but greed and money drives the unconscionable clear cutting of these remaining areas that Green Diamond is clear-cutting. This harvest plan is sending shock waves through a very diverse population. The community is low in Numbers but Green Diamond will find we are strong and united in saving the Trinidad area forests.Flag

Name: Kimberly Tays on Feb 2, 2013Comments: I cannot believe that Green Diamond would even consider cutting the forest in an area so close to Trinidad--which obviously is used by many people--as evidenced by the cars that park at the end of Berry Road and is also known to be a culturally significant area to the Yurok peoples. I am asking Green Diamond to alter their plans; think about the community instead of the bottom line. If the company has a heart it will not clear-cut this area and will institute alternative plans. Sincerely, Kim Tays Resident of TrinidadFlag

Name: Michael McLaughlin on Feb 2, 2013Comments: Clearcutting practices are particularly damaging to the environment, as they fragment habitat, cause warmer areas not natural in the area forest, and lead to an impoverished ecosystem due to failure to have mixed forest and undergrowth. I am an avid hiker of Trinidad area forest land and value the nonconsumptive use of forests. I have met many local residents who feel thesame way. Please end clearcut/even age logging on Green Diamond lands.Flag
