Comments: What is with non chin owners saying they know everything ANY pet owner knows as well as I do that the internet can give BAD information regarding the care of any given animal. Do ALOT of research see what info you get from OTHER chin owners, a big cage can be fine, but a small one is NOT abuse, most people LOVE their chins

Comments: If you want a forum to discuss bs then create one with out misleading inexperienced chin owners who would like to be PROPERLY educated. While its nice to have an opinion you still need to seperate opinion from fact when attempting to educate!

Comments: chins are like no other animal and it is vital that anyone thinking about a chin pet should be well informed before the chin is brought home, the biggest no no i have seen as a rescuer is the impulse buying of chins for children. these are definately not a good pet for kids

Comments: People on that site are just awful and weren't willing to find out any real information about chins at ALL. Totally narrow minded and cared nothing about actual chin-facts

Comments: The comments in that thread by the mods seem to be biased against known chin practices. I know some of these small cage "culprits" and they do not breed for fur. It is unfair that the mods of that site believe this to be the case.

Comments: It's a shame when good advice is passed down, due to the ignorance of other people. Especially those who barely have any experience with chinchillas. It's a sad world we live in, when People can't get off their "high horse" and let experienced care-takers offer advice.

Comments: So sad that people who 'claim' to have the best interest of the animals so obviously ignore the people that know what they are talking about. Dont like runs Dont use them. But those of us that actually know what we are doing feel very sorry for you idiots that think they know it all... I feel sorry for ALL of your animals.

Comments: Do some research! Gather your information from someone that actually raises chinchillas not a lousy pet-food company that is trying to sell you something. "Ranch" chinchillas that are so abused are healthier, live longer, and are better cared for than a lot of "pet" chinchillas. I'd take a "ranch" chinchilla over a "pet" any day!

Comments: Too many people project human emotions on to animals. It has been proven over and over that with chins the best advice is the KISS reasoning. Keep it simple STUPID!! They need good feed, hay and water. A nice simple CLEAN cage without all the items to get hurt on. It angers me when you see these "pets" with large pee crused wire cages. Or see the countless posts of broken legs and mangled feet. Makes me wonder how often those huge cages get totally disinfected, powerwashed etc How many of those toys and fleece items are actually replaced or washed on a regular basis. So are those huge pet cages with tons of toys really a great home for your pet chin or are they a breeding ground for bacteria and accidents waiting to happen I would take a custom (washable) run over any large wire cage in a heart beat.
