Name: Anonymous on Feb 2, 2008Comments: I have spent many happy years welcoming the New Year at Tiger Bay (Charara). In recent years my children have attended the celebrations at Charara. Tusker was special and was their first - it was his home - no human has the right to destroy that!Flag

We do not condone what the Authorities or the people at the New Years Eve party Did, that brought upon the Destruction of Tusker. I am hoping that now the People in charge will ban all parties at Charara.Flag

Name: Gavin Fahrenfort on Feb 2, 2008Comments: It is unfortunate that this has to be stopped, due to poor management and lack of control, as the kids really have very limited venues to go to now-a-days in Zimbabwe. My wish is that an alternative venue can be sought away from the nature reserve, so that party can go on, just not at Charara, however it should be overseen by local authorities like they do in first-world countries. Mankind has already pushed wildlife around enough on the African continent, and this area is zoned for the animals. The welfare of the animals comes first.Flag

Name: Linda Bergman-Althouse on Feb 2, 2008Comments: Thank you for everything you do and will continue to do to save these amazing and valuable animals. Elephants have always inspired and motivated me to work with wildlife here in the States. I've been in love with them since childhood and have a number of pictures and statues throughout my home. I offer my condolences (as well as those from the staff of the Outer Banks Wildlife Shelter where I work in North Carolina) for the loss of Tusker and I will never forget his story. I will share it with young people in the States so they will also realize the loss and to help grow a deep respect for these animals, your animals of Africa and our animals of the world. With great respect and Sincerity, Linda Bergman-AlthouseFlag

Name: Heathclyff St James-Deville on Feb 2, 2008Comments: I urge you to sincerely and thoughtfully make the right decision by stopping this party. National Parks are, to my knowledge, established so that the wild animals (what little left we have) have a safe haven. To allow a party goes counter to this very ethic. Name: Christine Lesieur on Feb 2, 2008Comments: I agree with the content of this letter. It seems to me more responsible to keep parties away from wildlife.seeing what happened to Tusker. Wildlife Parks are unappropriate places for this sort of venues that perturb and stress the animals.Flag

We have encroached on wildlife enough as it is, isn't it time to give them some peace And I am my brothers keeper, and I will fight his fights; and speak the words for beasts and bird, till the world shall set things right.Flag
