Name: Mike Casey on Dec 12, 2009Comments: I think this project is a huge waste of taxpayers money. They could have resolved the problem working with both sides of the issue not just one side to clean up the river side. The 3 toxic dump sites loaded with nb power transformers and all the other contaminated wastes that will flow into the river. There is huge tourism that has not been able to develop on Lake Petitcodiac. Come Play In Our Lake. 23 Kilometers of fresh water great for recreational use. What we will end up with, a contaminated river not good for anything. Are the tax payers in this province willing to spend about a billion dollars when this is all done, for what. The issue is fish passage, put a better fish ladder in place. The Lake is full of fish. The environmental damages that will be done here will be far worse than anything that has aready happenedFlag

Name: Judy Beatty on Dec 13, 2009Comments: We are certainly not in favor of losing our lake, it is being used for recreational purposes and enjoyed by so many. The pollution that is on the River side is terrible, and must be cleaned up. It is terrifying to think of the mounds of garbage that were dumped there and now they are talking of opening up the gates. What will happen to the enviroment?Flag

The Graham goverment is wasting tax dollars faster than they can be collected. Hydro is just another example of foolish management we have to put up with.Flag

Name: Bryan & Veronica Shannon on Dec 13, 2009Comments: If all these people claim to be helping the ecological and evironment surrounding the river, maybe they should all stop driving cars and polluting the atmosphere. Judging by all the other rivers in the bay of fundy, I do not forsee the upstream waters from washing away all the silt. Also, we all know they just covered the old dump with dirt, so all that will be exposed to the river, how great... Another thing, the govenrnment is now suing the consulting firm for the supposed clean up of the dump from years ago, why? Because it was not done right, meaning the ground is polluted. Lets stop this nonsense.Flag

Name: Sherry Wilson on Dec 13, 2009Comments: This project was never planned properly from the very beginning. Because of a few loud voices and for the Liberals to have a few more votes, this project is turning into disaster because they are not addressing the serious pollution issues. There should have been a plan to clean up any pollution first and the irresponsible way this has been handled will create a mess that is far too costly to clean up. Just one more disaster of the Graham govenment to add to the long list. Where are you Enviornmental people?Flag

Name: Norm Inman on Dec 13, 2009Comments: Just think........The Shawn Graham government is spending millions of New Brunswicker's tax dollars to further spread toxic pollutants that are leaking from Moncton's old Landfill sites upstream in the Petitcodiac River. Should'nt "Good Government" put priorities in order like "clean up" old Landfill Sites, Rivers and "Upgrade" Sewage Treatment Plants before even considering removing the gates at the causeway?! This is a pure sign of "Bad Government" and incompetence!Flag
