Name: Denise Santoli on Apr 21, 2007Comments: I am a board certified nurse practitioner with a master's degree. It is beyond insulting that a bill like this could even get out the gate, let alone pass through the senate. Do you realize the majority of med spas are run by NP's I actually have to teach MD's how to operate the lasers. This is not an equitable proposal and we will not allow this to affect our professional careers. If PA's were lumped into the inclusion for this bill because they are regulated by the same board, FINE! But, please have the courtesy to consider the other mid level providers.Flag

Name: Kimberly Garcia on Apr 23, 2007Comments: I am a certified medical assistant and have performed many of the procedures that are in this bill. With all of my experience, it is hard to imagine that my job is in jeopardy because I lack a degree. I certainly do not lack the experience or the training.Flag

Name: Marcia Silva on Apr 23, 2007Comments: Nurses have historically performed proceures under indirect physician supervision. You remove this from properly trained licensed nurses and how will you be able to justify homecare nurses, ICU nurses, and many other nurses who operate without the physician present This is an unfair bill motivated by doctors desire to monopolize the industry. Please, do not allow this to happen!!!Flag

Name: Donna Wright on Apr 23, 2007Comments: We have been in business for over 3 1/2 years and have NEVER seriouly injured anyone. We pride ourselves in our training methods and treatment techniques. Everyone in the valley knows that the most serious laser injury reports come from DOCTORS doing the treatments with little or no training. This bill would put many honest and caring med spas out of business and many more out of a job. Thank you!Flag

Name: Kayla Halbasch on Apr 23, 2007Comments: The Skin Institute Technicians are fully certified and trained by Lumenis which is the company of the lasers that are used here....Its not fare that we have to suffer our jobs because other medi spas dont train or spend time with there techs on procedures and protocalls...there should be a certification that allows estheticians to laser patients.Flag

Name: Andrew Garcia on Apr 23, 2007Comments: This bill would put a professional, well trained and mother of 4 out of work. My wife takes pride in her work and in more that qualified to handle a laser and or needle. My wife completed Medical Assistance School where she then was a loyal employee for Dr. Steve Thomas who is one of the most sought after surgeons in Nevada. I know there are incidents were patrons are subjected to under qualified employees practicing these techniques using a laser for skin care and needles for Botox etc... But there are neuro surgeons who attend school for 7+ years who make mistakes as well. Please do not allow this bill to pass and put not only my wife out of work but thousands of wives and husbands who have successfull Medical Spas. ITS ALL ABOUT TRAINING, NOT BEING A MEDICAL DOCTOR OR PHYSICIANS ASSISTANT.Flag
