Comments: A free, fair, impartial Lahui process of self determination to decide on our terms, what form of reconciliation is acceptable to the majority of kanaka maoli is the only principled way to approach this issue.

Comments: With the Akaka Bill the United States here again plays their game of make believe. Kanaka Maoli are not Native Americans as this piece of rubbish makes us out to be. Hawaii is not a part of the United States, the big make believe that has been ongoing for over a century. There was no treaty of annexation between the United States and the Hawaiiian Kingdom. Quite the contrary, the large majority of Hawaiian Kingdom citizens opposed annexation as witnessed by documented anti-annexation petitions that were hidden away by earlier American politicians. The statehood process was illegitimate on many levels, including lacking any option other than statehood. The United States lied to the United Nations Assembly in order to have Hawaii removed from the list of non-selfgoverning nations to be decolonized, just one of the many international crimes committed against Hawaii. The issue at hand is not one of race, but one of nationality. All descendants of Hawaiian Kingdom citizens regardless of race are entitled to self-determination. We want what everyone else in the world wants, and that is to live free in the sovereign nation of our ancestors. The United States and their military death machine has caused irrepairable harm to our lands, our sea, and our health. The Akaka Bill will further the harm against the people and nation of Hawaii, harms that we have suffered through for over a century. This is NOT reconciliation! Deoccupy Hawaii United States, it should be clear to you that you are not welcome in Hawaii.

Comments: I choose not to amputate the right side of my body to "supposedly" keep the left side alive. There should be no compromise. It is only logical to know that there can be no second, third, fourth steps without taking the first...and for the USA...the first step was illegal. Therefore...by all common sense...the following steps are null and void!!!
