Stop the Sale of "Napoleon Dynamite" Pens

About 10 million people in the United States are reported to have a medical diagnosis that includes mental retardation. Children with this diagnosis were given the right by federal law to be included on typical school campuses for their education as far back as 1974. This pen, which says "You Are Retarded", could create a volatile and dangerous environment for students trying to gain an education.

I feel that if a derogatory statement like this had been directed at some other marginalized group, IE: ethnic, cultural or religious, Fox would not have allowed it.
I would ask two things:

First, remove these pens from the stores immediately and do not let them get into the hands of students. These pens will only increase segregation and discrimination of individuals with cognitive disabilities. I beg you; please do not contribute to this kind of hatred.

Second, reconsider your standards in respect to human rights. In this day and age there should not be different standards for minority groups whose voices may not be as loud. The word "retarded" refers directly to individuals who have received a medical diagnosis of mental retardation. This does not happen by choice and is a challenge for these individuals and their families.

This petition will be sent to Fox, ABC, NBC and CBS, as well as investors for Walgreens, Walmart, Rite-Aid, CVS and Target.
